Back - like a phoenix from the flames
Sunday, 29th Jul 2018 18:11 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

OK, fully prepared to accept that this may be the biggest exaggeration that you have read in the last five minutes but the time to resurrect Planet Swans and create extra discussion is now as the Swans head into a season, for the first time in eight summers, as a non-premier league club.

The heatwave that has engulfed Britain for much of our close season now appears to be over as Swansea is doused with some much needed rain this weekend and the football season is just one week away from starting once again.

And with that season around the corner it is time to revitalise a site that for too long has been treated in much the same way as our football club. There was much good about it but it was left to go downhill through multi million pound takeover that was made to the first available buyer.

It is true that the last part of this may not have been true but a glance at the front page of Planet Swans tells you clearly the sorry story of the way last season finished, player ratings needed for the last five games that saw us pick up 0 points and just 1 goal.

The site headline talks about the end of an era was published on the site on 11th May, over 11 weeks ago and the very last blog submitted by a reader of the site is just 19 days away from celebrating it's 1st birthday

One of the things that has made Planet Swans so popular in the past has been a wide ranging view of opinions. Not a regurgitating of the news that you can read with a casual look at Newsnow but a fans viewpoint on what is happening at the Liberty Stadium and that is what we are intending to bring back this season.

Of course we will look ahead and back at matches but the football club is about much more than that and the site will be opinionated in what it publishes and generate discussion on what is going on at the club.

For that we too need your opinions to count. If you are a budding writer or want to see your content published then please get in touch by e-mailing phil@planetswans.co.uk. You don't have to commit to daily/weekly or even monthly content, it may just be something you want to get off your chest but this is the platform for you to do just that.

If you wish to become a blogger then please get in touch with Phil_S via PM using This link and we will set you up as a blogger where you can share your views equally as freely.

Whether that is over a match, an incident, a player or just the club in general all we ask is that it has some relevance to the site and then we will get it published (oh and of course it mustn't cross any legal boundaries!)

2018/19 is a big season for the Swans and a season where you will see Planet Swans back amongst the news headlines and not just repeating them
