Swansea City fans are in pessimistic mode ahead of the new season with more than 60% believing that our return to the Championship will end in a bottom half finish, with more than 1 in 4 believing that it is a bottom 6 finish that beckons.

The Swans will tomorrow kick off a season in the Championship for the first time in eight years following their relegation from the Premier League last time around.

And with 13 departures from the club this summer and just 3 coming in to date it is little wonder that the mood is one of pessimism from the close on 400 people that cast their votes in the site poll.

The most popular choice by far (33.2%) was a bottom half finish although next most popular was a top half finish with 24.8%. More people believe we will go down compared to going up with the bookies believing that we are probably just about there for a top half finish although there has been a reduction in the odds on us going down.
