Beat The Bookie - Preston North End
Friday, 11th Jan 2019 07:52 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

It has been almost two weeks since we were in league action in the 4-1 win over Reading on New Year's Day but Graham Potter has the chance to secure a third successive win away from home at Preston tomorrow.

And if it is league action then it can only mean one thing and we are back to look at the odds available for the game to see if we can secure some value from them.

The Swans start the game as second favourites which is perhaps a surprise given the last two results on the road have seen us score seven and conceded just once. Not quite the standards of Man City but for a team that seems to have been starved of goal action in the last few years this is positively free scoring at the moment.

Those odds for the Swans to win are 19/10, Preston are 29/20 whilst the draw at 47/20 suggests that the bookies see this as far more likely then they usually do given the relatively short odds offered.

Regular readers of this feature will know that we often try and pick the value out of the goalscoring charts and with the Swans now seemingly having goals from many sources then there could be some value to be had here. Therefore we are picking out Bersant Celina at 3/1 to score at any time and, given his recent record why not Mike Van Der Hoorn again at 16/1 to score at any time.

The passing game that the Swans are adopting is a good one at the moment and can create many corners in a game and therefore the odds on us getting over 4.5 corners at 11/10 seems a good one and one that I think would attract a couple of £ from us.

Predicting the correct score has become a real challenge for this team, with our early season strong defence missing in the second third of the season. And our lack of firepower up front certainly not being evident in 2019 so far. BetUK always offer a multi bet for the exact score and whilst we are confident of a win, we like this bet to hedge our chances and therefore you can back at 7/2 the Swans to win either 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 which is a nice wide range.

Finally, the bet that we want to close on today is one that sees both sides scoring tomorrow but there being a positive result and that is available to back at 6/4 whilst both teams to score with at least three goals in the game is there at 11/10. Both seem value but let's see how that works out come 5pm Saturday evening.

So that is our picks from the bets to start this week - remember when the fun stops, stop unless you are a Cardiff fan and then keep heading back anyway.
