QPR v Middlesbrough – Betting Preview
QPR v Middlesbrough – Betting Preview

The LFW pundits return for a look ahead to this Saturday’s game against Middlesbrough and examine any value they think exists out there in the weekend market.

The nightmare scenario of both pundits being in debt is now upon us after Brian’s £40 loss last week took his running total to -£1.95. Lewis is down £205.36. All good fun though. Unless you’re backing these tips of course.

Last week was a what if week as Buz did score but not first , I was right that Denman is a beast of a horse and at one point in the second half three of my four teams were winning and the other drawing but then the Barnsley game was abandoned and it all went belly up. I did get an e/w double on the horses but it won’t take long to count the 4.50 return on that.

We have two games in the space of three days and I have a feeling things could go wrong. Boro come to town and Strachan is still searching for this first victory. I have said it before and I will repeat the statement that if you are a team or a striker on a bad run there is no better team than us to put you back on track. On the Watford game they are going well but have off the field problems and if you see an old balding man busking outside the Harlequin Centre be careful it might be Elton John. Both games have the potential to be high scoring games and I will go for a 2-2 draw in both with Watson to score first.

This weekend’s horse racing action centres around the Tingle Creek chase and I am going to back Forpaddytheplasterer and Kilkenny All Star in the 2.40 at Wetherby

The key to any type of online-blog is to catch the attention of the reader early in the article – this week I will aim to do this with an awful joke, one which is so bad – it’s actually hilarious.

A man walks past another man fishing and says: “You won’t catch anything there – there are no fish there – no chance.” The man replies: “Oh yeah? Want a bet? I bet I can catch one within ten minutes.” The man quotes 4-1 and the fisherman gives him £10. Five minutes later, the fisherman catches a whopper, but he’s fuming when the man who laid the bet gives him only £20 back. “What’s going on you rascal?” the fisherman moans. “Sorry pal, it’s a quarter the odds a plaice,” came the reply.

Moving swiftly on – QPR face a tough ask of two games in three days. Mind numbingly stupid idea if you ask me, but that rant is for another day.

QPR were highly unlucky last weekend and proved to be far too strong for a poor Coventry side. Middlesbrough rolls into town on Saturday and will be in for a major surprise if the free-flowing Rangers decide to show up. I fancy QPR this weekend which is normally a recipe for disaster but a spread bet on a high scoring Rangers win will be the selection along with Faurlin to grab his first goal for the R’s.

With the betting balance gathering absolutely no momentum, a totally different plan of action is needed. It has been known over the past few years that a relatively good way of me making extra beer money has been to take a stab at the halftime/fulltime results; desperate times call for desperate measures – so after the £24 I will waste on the QPR game, the rest will be lumped on a extravagant halftime/fulltime multiple.

For the weekend:
£5 on QPR to win 3-0 (25/1 Betchronicle)
£5 on QPR to win 4-1 (50/1 Skybet)
£5 on QPR to win 4-0 (80/1 Coral)
£9 on Faurlin to score anytime (7/1 William Hill)

Halftime/Fulltime - £1 (26 bets) Super Yankee
QPR/QPR (3/1 Coral)
Draw/Nottingham Forest (7/2 Betchronicle)
Draw/Reading (6/1 Coral)
Liverpool/Draw (16/1 Skybet)
Manchester United/Draw (18/1 Skybet)

Previously Advised:
QPR to win the Championship £10 at 14/1
