Huw Jenkins hours away from securing a deal to buy Swansea City with Dubai consortium
Thursday, 1st Apr 2021 09:00

Huw Jenkins one time revered saviour of the swans with a consortium of friends and supporters back in 2002 is currently in talks to finalise a deal to purchase the club outright. Jenkins is backed by Sheik Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Dubai and a deal expected to be around 102 million USD is only hours away.

The impossible is about to come true, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud a close friend of Michael Douglas is believed to have spoken to him before Christmas, and his interest in the swans was increased last month. The constraints of the talks were no publicity, and no consultation with any other shareholder other than the majority group in the USA. Money isn’t going to be an issue with Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ( Al ) having a net worth in excess of twenty billion pounds.

What we do know is the supporters trust will be offered a one time chance to sell their shares for five million pounds.

Al flew in to Texas yesterday morning on his private jet which he lovingly has named after one of his wives ( Tina ) Thereafter discussions took place in San Antonio before an agreement was made. The fit and proper test will not hinder Al securing a role at the club, however swans fans will be split on the inclusion of Huw Jenkins in this deal. The expectation as well is Bayram Tutumlu will also join the swans board as a part of the deal, he if you remember was behind numerous transfers to the club during the reign of Michael Laudrup, the most successful period at Swansea in the clubs history.

There is a press conference at the club later today, believed to be around 3pm with Julian Winter who will announce the final detail. We will of course keep you updated.
