Steve Cooper’s agent reported by The Sun at Selhurst Park
Sunday, 23rd May 2021 11:23 by David Cornish

Alan Nixon, The Sun’s and ex Mirror football reporter has stated that Steve Cooper’s ‘ New Agent ‘ (but failed to name him) was in the Crystal Palace directors box in midweek.

Nobody seems to know who this new entity in Steve Cooper’s life is, indeed no photograph was taken as proof. In Nixon’s case you always have to read in to what he is saying, he often writes in generic terms using could, If or should as fall backs in his stories. Here is an example “If Palace are convinced the compensation should be no problem” And it’s odd, why would Nixon hold back on this information until today, four days later ? He would have been all over that story straight away. And he has allegedly deleted a tweet on the story too from what we can see.

Now we don’t disbelieve Crystal Palace have an interest in Cooper. We’ve reported genuinely on it this last week. We do know the owners want him but the Palace Chairman wants Dyche, we’ve again already stated that. However we are taking this with a pinch of salt, not to sprinkle over a slug but to add no flavour at all to an already salty dish.

I doubt Cooper is on massive money. This was apparently upped by Levien at the start of this season. It would have been cute to insert a two way option and an extra year or two to maximised compensation. The US would be cute enought to see this.
I am not a gambling man but if I was I would put something on David Wagner coming to Swamsea. He has had a tough couple of years but then so did Brendan before he came to Swansea.

It’s a good point and if Marsh chooses to stay, which I don’t think he will, but if he does he has worked with Wagner on numerous occasions.
