Marc Guehi bids the swans farewell
Monday, 31st May 2021 09:04 by Keith Haynes

Marc Guehi returns to Chelsea with a new contract and a huge, positive future as he concludes his loan deal with the swans. He has been so successful over the pasty women seasons he is now being talked about as a shoe in for Chelsea next season.

Before Marc left to return to London he reflected on his time at Swansea and his fondness for the club and the area. “I've really enjoyed my time here. The fans and everyone at the club have really embraced me and taken me in as if I was family,” said the 20-year-old. It's been an amazing time I've spent here; Swansea City will forever be in my heart. I enjoyed every minute on the pitch, especially with the fans. I didn't get to play in front of them too much, but the times that I did I really enjoyed. I don't know what my future holds but I'll definitely keep my eyes on how Swansea are doing at all times and support them from afar. The fans have been great; everyone's really taken me under their wing and it's been amazing.”

Marc led with true passion and a mesmerising ability at times during games, and his physique and power was one of the main reasons Swansea City made the Championship play off final at Wembley.
A reliable and trustworthy defender who no doubt will find his way in to his countries international sides for the rest of his career. However, the experience he has gained under the guidance of Steve Cooper is also something he should be extremely thankful for. Then of course there was Wembley.

“I'm absolutely gutted, disappointed - any negative feeling that springs to mind. It's been such a long season with such drive, ambition and hard work from the lads; it's just a shame that we couldn't get over the line," he added. But I'm incredibly proud of everyone for coming this far and at least giving it a go in the final. We kept running and going again, so we showed pride.”

Thanks Marc, a true professional, we wish you all the very best wherever your journey takes you next.
