Swansea City digging deep to find the best UK talent - Abdul Abdulmalik
Sunday, 13th Jun 2021 13:24 by Keith Haynes

Swansea City’s Andy Scott is determined to furnish Steve Cooper with an exciting and talented 2021/22 season squad. With his future still up in the air the swans have decided to press on and bring in the best in UK talent available for the future - and add to the first team squad.

Abdul Abdulmalik Is the next player the swans are determined to recruit. He is out of contract at the end of June, and is unlikely to sign a contract with his club Millwall. It seems odd with a player not happy to sign a new contract that Millwall would reject an approach from the swans. The eighteen year old is yet to play for the Millwall first team but his electric pace up front has already caught the eye. If Millwall don’t agree to the swans approach then a basic training fee will be payable to them come July 1st.

Are you happy with the way the summer is going regards the clubs recruiting policy ?

It’s great to hear that the Swans are looking for such talent. However, it’s about time that the club and/or Cooper made a statement regarding our head coaches stance. Is he staying, or is he interested in the CP managers position. I would surmise that with the club looking for young exciting talent then it’s obviously looking forward, and who best to lead that project is of course Cooper and his coaching team. So come on Swansea let’s have that statement please.

Swansea are keeping hold of their own council. Its like fishing. There is a £4.5m fish nibbling at the bait and the club should not pull on the line too early. Cooper is asking for a bumper new deal but the football was dull but effective. "Dull but effective" is not the Swansea way. He will not get his bumper deal unless he shows a better brand of football. In the meantime he may want to cash in just like Swansea.
