Richard Keys & Andy Gray on Gareth Bale, can you feel the jealousy ?
Saturday, 19th Jun 2021 14:42 by Keith Haynes

Richard Keys, banned from Sky sports for sexist and bigoted comments on air believing his microphone was off - has once again opened his mouth and had it firmly closed. Before we start let’s see what Keys and his sidekick, the sexist Andy Gray said to get both of them sacked from Sky Sports.

During Liverpool's 3-0 Premier League victory against Wolves, when Massey made a tight offside decision that was found to be completely correct upon video replay, Keys said, thinking their microphones had been switched off: “Somebody better get down there and explain offside to her Massey.”

“Yeah, I know. Can you believe that? Female linesman. Forget what I said - they probably don’t know the offside rule," Gray added.

"Course they don't," said Keys.

Gray replied: “Why is there a female linesman? Somebody’s xxxxxxx up big.”

Keys was also found to have made a comment about West Ham United vice-chair Karren Brady's newspaper column, saying: "The game's gone mad. See charming Karren Brady this morning complaining about sexism? Yeah. Do me a favour, love."

The issue of course is Keys for all his apologies and squirming to try and save his job at Sky he continued to mention Massey and look for excuses. The Premier League confirmed that Keys had called Massey to apologise, but that did not stop him from continuing blaming the ordeal on "misguided fun" and referring to "lads' mag humour", attributing it as normal in pubs, clubs and dressing rooms across the country.

Later, footage also emerged of Gray asking presenter Charlotte Jackson to tuck his microphone down his trousers. Both sexists were later to meet Massey and Gray stayed Keys added: "Andy wasn’t live when he was stood pitchside. That anger that I carry in my back pocket, I will never, ever put away."

Keys also made a reference “Did you still smash it” when referencing an ex girlfriend of Jamie Redknapp.

He then explained to the Sun On Line how the two presenters had bumped into Sian Massey recently and that they 'all laughed over the incident'. He added: "She was a little embarrassed. "And Andy had to explain to her, ‘It was absolutely nothing to do with you. It really wasn’t. So don’t ever think that it was.’" Yes, in true bigoted style, refusing to accept they did anything wrong they again continue to mention their pathetic and undermining opinions and even confronted the woman they both verbally attacked.

In a 30-second clip leaked to the Football Ramble website, dating from their time as Sky presenters, Gray and Keys are heard wolf-whistling at Claire Tomlinson as she prepares to report to camera pitchside at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The duo break into a chant of “Get your tits out for the lads”. Gray then makes another derogatory comment before the footage cuts off. And still people listen to them. Now both work for Al Jazeera who have a more tolerant approach to these two continuing their media career, irrespective of what they said.

Even last month hairy armed Keys told The Athletic “It was a set-up, of course it was, “But they made capital out of it. Don’t forget, neither of us were caught behind an open mic. What happened to me was recorded on a telephone in that studio, it seems to me it was done with a specific purpose. “Andy wasn’t live when he was stood pitchside. That anger that I carry in my back pocket, I will never, ever put away”

As far as we are concerned the closest thing to his back pocket is where Keys talks from.

Let’s have a look at what Keys mouth has been saying about Gareth Bale in recent times. In fact let’s have a look at his years of attacks on Gareth Bale, it’s quite incredible.

On joining Spurs from Real Madrid Keys said in his blog online “He’s no longer the player he was and won’t ever be again. He lost all that pace and doesn’t seem able to get around the pitch anymore. Yes, he’s still got a raking pass in him. Yes, he’ll nick the odd goal — but he’s a liability defensively. If I’m Spurs I’m not wasting money making his move permanent.”

Before the Euros both Keys and Gray started their usual idiocy Keys said “Speculation about him retiring at the end of these Euros, I start to believe that because I just don’t think he’s bothered anymore," Andy Gray responded: “Do you not think he’ll be bothered more about his country than Tottenham? “I think he’ll feel comfortable (with Wales) because he is the star of the show, he’s the biggest fish in the pond," replied Keys. "I don’t think he enjoys the game, I don’t think he wants to play the game."

On his twitter account Keys questioned the moral of Spurs bringing in Bale from Madrid due to their alleged debts of £175,000,000. Any excuse it seems. Wales on Line reported Keys said, There was no work-rate!” that’s what he was annoyed about!” There are numerous and many Richard Keys comments regards Bale but the cracker is this one. “I just don’t think he’s bothered anymore,” Have a look at a country closer to home Richard, or should we say if you weren’t an apologist for your sexist comments and behaviour a country you may still be living in. When will these dinosaurs ever learn.
