Steve Cooper takes Swansea City training in Surrey this morning
Wednesday, 7th Jul 2021 12:40 by David Cornish.

Swansea City manager Steve Cooper, who has been under much scrutiny in recent weeks as to his commitment to the club, and indeed his commitment to leave was in Surrey this morning - taking training as per usual.

A few days back I wrote a piece on Cooper and the recent developments on his future at Swansea, and their commitment to him as the manager for the new season. Those that didn’t read the article assumed the piece was stating Cooper wasn’t at the ‘ first day back’ training day at Landore on Saturday. Of course if those few folk actually read the article they would know and understood that wasn’t the commentary I wrote. The context when understood was exact and simple ‘why we haven’t heard anything from the club’ or him and ‘why he wasn’t he in any official photographs’ or commenting on ‘new signings’ It seemed to upset a few folk, oh well ...

Even when Joe Piroe signed there was no comment from Cooper or Marsh, and no picture with him, I mean this young player has been on Cooper’s hit list for two years ! Anyway, it’s put to bed. Make of it what you will. To have the opportunity to write for thousands of people a day, and to read and hear their intelligent responses is enough for me.

It was refreshing to see Steve Cooper at the training camp this morning, clearly joining in the training as we can see from our photographs in this piece. Many and numerous players were there too, and what is most noticeable is a few faces yet to be identified ? Maybe those two new signings are in amongst the action ?

Pennyhill is an exclusive venue, and will have set the club back a tidy sum for this four day gathering before returning to Swansea on Friday evening. It is expected an official unveiling of new signings will occur on Saturday or very early next week. It’s hard for the club to exactly work these things with last minute issues like salaries and final touches to contracts.

It looks like the swans are back at it and raring to go, here’s hoping we have the manager and the coaching team all together for what is building up to be an exciting season.
