Boro valuation of Jake Bidwell is ‘Laughable’
Monday, 23rd Aug 2021 17:25 by Keith Haynes

Representatives of Middlesbrough FC have spoken with Swansea City and have given the club an idea of what they believe Jake Bidwell is worth. Unfortunately it can only be described as laughable, and doesn’t even bear any form of consideration. Although the valuation of 2.5 million by other less informed areas of the press is also laughable, the Boro valuation is believed to be around 120k.

Jake Bidwell is 28 years of age and has been a revelation since fitting in extremely well in to Steve Cooper’s and now Russell Martin’s match day strategy. Proving his adaptability in to attacking and defensive formations and ability to supply crosses which enabled the swans to score numerous goals last season, he is very well thought of at the club. Bidwell is another player who is in the last year of his contract and it isn’t surprising other clubs would find him of interest.

Swansea City will not let Bidwell go for anything less than 450k we are told, and based on that Middlesbrough are way down on their valuation. No offer has been received for Bidwell, however news of his availability will alert numerous other Championship clubs.

Jake Bidwell has settled well in west Wales and has found at last a place he can feel comfortable with his game. The only negative for him is Russell Martin is keen to recruit a far quicker and athletic left sided defender. Max Lowe has been mentioned at Sheffield United, however Bidwell will not be allowed to leave the swans until form replacements are in place. As the transfer window closing creeps closer, this is not the end of Jake Bidwell being mentioned with a move from Swansea City.
