Swansea City fans extremely disappointed at Kyle Joseph loan decision : Bidwell & Grimes latest
Friday, 27th Aug 2021 11:00 by Keith Haynes

New Swansea City signing Kyle Joseph looks set to leave the swans this weekend with Cheltenham Town being favourites to agree a loan deal. The news has come as a shock to Swansea fans, the majority of whom have seen some real glimpses of class in Joseph since his move from Wigan Athletic.

Player development is crucial, especially when you are only 19 years of age, however the decision to loan out Kyle Jospeh did come as a bit of a surprise. The recent form of Morgan Whittaker we understand had something to do with the decision, although many swans fans would have preferred to see Liam Cullen leave instead. He needs game time more than most at the club. Oli Cooper and Dan Williams also look likely to leave on temporary deals this weekend. Any club getting Williams will have a real talent on their hands.

Dan Williams also likely to leave Swansea on loan

Of course, we realise it’s all about money as well. The swans expect to free up four salaries with players going out on loan in Jospeh, Oli Cooper, Williams and possibly Cullen before Monday evening. And offers for Jake Bidwell are expected as well. Matt Grimes hasn’t responded to the latest swans offer of a new contract expected to make him the top wage earner at he club, clearly waiting for news of any late interest in him over this weekend. Having said that he will play against Preston on Saturday unless anything really drastic happens in the meantime. It is unlikely.

Swansea City manager Russell Martin has spoken about players leaving especially Joseph, Williams and Oli Cooper “They all know. I spoke to Dan again after the other night, so they're all on board with the plan for them," said Russell Martin. They all agree on what they need at this current time. It's just a case of finding the best place for them. We can't just send them anywhere. It needs to be suitable and done in the right way. It needs to help them progress for us because they're not going away to play and try and set themselves up somewhere else, they're going away to then put themselves in a stronger position when they come back here to try and get into our team."

Transfer speculation is rife around the swans at the moment and we will keep you up to date with our transfer deadline special from Monday morning.
