Jake Silverstein to head up all transfer window negotiations until at least mid January
Sunday, 19th Dec 2021 14:36 by David Cornish (2)

Covid-19 protocols and rules yet to be implemented pending, Jake Silverstein is in Swansea to head up all negotiations for new players in the transfer window. The plan is that he will be the key negotiator for all the swans transfers in the foreseeable future, and he has already started his field trip. His aim is to have the majority of the work done by January 14th although this is flexible.

Jake came on to the board in 2020 with an investment of money to aid the stability of the club which now see’s him as the USA consortiums main man over the coming weeks. He is here for a number of reasons. Obviously the primary one is to ensure that the swans spending is carefully negotiated using his vast business experience with his USA club interests. With his hands firmly on the financial purse strings it will be a carefully managed process. Players out are key but there is investment already in place from the states. He will oversee the main transfers coming in alongside Julian Winter who has a fully endorsed remit from America.

No European players outside of the UK are on his hit list as of today.

Silverstein will be in England and Scotland over the coming weeks with meetings scheduled to review the availability of players. We understand there are six targets that could be classed as category A, with back up targets carefully sourced by Winter and Russell Martin over the last four weeks. We will have a very precise article on his movements and objectives over the next two days.

We will not speculate now regards Silverstein until his real player priority is known to us, and we will evaluate all speculation as we always have, very carefully. What we can say now is new players are on their way, and a number of Swansea City players will leave permanently and on loan. The only news we do have is that Andrew Fisher at MK Dons has agreed in principle a move to west Wales pending the two clubs agreeing a fee. We believe three players, Brandon Cooper, Morgan Whittaker amd Liam Cullen are key to this getting concluded quickly.

We look forward to bringing you this exciting attempt to improve and strengthen Swansea City as time moves on.

Swansea have set up a robust team and Silverstein will use it and push on the process. No mention of Mr Allen in your article. Mr Allen will open doors at Manchester city for example. I would be disappointed if he did no get one Man city young hotshot like Mcfee or Doyle.
