Steve Cooper seemed pretty keen on signing Sam Greenwood last season, and in fact towards the latter end of the season before. The young Leeds United forward was on Cooper’s radar for sure. Now he is ready to jump in to the melting pot and offer Greenwood terms at Nottingham Forest.

Clearly as a part of Cooper leaving the swans there wasn’t any mention in the non disclosure agreement and parting of ways about hijacking Swansea City’s previous interest in players like Sam Greenwood. Today Cooper seems way out in front to sign the soon to be twenty year old in a rest of season loan.

Russell Martin will be disappointed if he doesn’t secure Greenwood, Mark Allen has worked exceptionally hard to try and get the player. However, Greenwood is only one of four striker targets for the swans this month. One which we are working on would be a real boost for the Jack army, and if it comes off a remarkable piece of business.

The latest Greenwood doesn’t surprise us, and to be honest doesn't really bother us either. He is a huge gamble, especially when weighed up against the real possibility of a serious transfer coup in the coming weeks.
