Ben Cabango to West Ham tweet is inaccurate and misleading. Completely untrue.
Tuesday, 11th Jan 2022 06:26 by Keith Haynes

Last summer West Ham were linked by two sources that they were in the process of or at least interested in signing Ben Cabango. At that point we were sceptical and chose to swerve the sources reporting this. Basically because it wasn’t factual and couldn’t be researched to the levels we go to before reporting.

Yesterday afternoon we received two contacts regards the same player and the same club again. Ben Cabango was again linked to West Ham. Speaking directly to those who would know the validity of this claim it was dismissed out of hand. Then, we understand a twitter account with two followers announced Cabango was on his way to West Ham. They named Fabrizio Romano as the source for this information. Romano is an extremely trusted source in football, in fact it could be said he knows more about the going’s on in football than football does. A multi lingual and well respected journalist he once worked for Sky Sports in Italy. Checking Fabrizio Romano’s twitter account revealed nothing, and a contact close to Omni Sports who professionally advise Cabango proved negative.

The only link to Italy where Fabrizio Romano was born is that Omni Sports owner Jamie Featherstone can boast his agency is the only licensed UK practice to operate within the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio ( FIGC ) Looking closer this morning at the ‘Hammers News’ tweet highlights some concerns. Apart from there being no mention on Romano’s twitter feed and the lack of followers at source, the information on the tweet is clearly googled from English to Italian in an attempt to deceive. We won’t expose the ‘Hammer News’ tweet on here as it’s a clear attempt to mislead for reasons only that individual understands.

This information should be disregarded.

It’s more than obvious twenty one year old Ben Cabango would be of interest to numerous clubs, and his playing profile and pedigree is very attractive. However this tweet and it’s content is completely untrue. We would never rule out any swans player going to any club, but we do our research first, then report the outcome. We don’t even rule out Ben Cabango leaving Swansea, or anyone else for that matter. Mostly it’s confirmed information that you read on here, on this occasion it’s confirming misinformation. We pride ourselves on this and will continue to do so as long as this site reports Swansea City news.

Remember,it’s not about being first it’s about accurate with good intention, nothing more.
