Cyrus Christie transfer isn’t the end of the world *Swans transfer latest* Bidwell etc
Thursday, 13th Jan 2022 09:32 by Gruff Stephens

It seemed yesterday that Cyrus Christie would join Swansea City on a loan deal from Fulham, however the deal fell through after discussions between the two clubs. It isn’t the end of the world for the swans who are Christie’s preferred club, and discussions will continue this week.

The player is on in excess of 80k a month at Fulham but has only seen action in one cup game this season. Last season he spent time with Nottingham Forest but they chose not to pursue any deal for him. The reasons for the transfer falling through are not clear but a player on this type of money, plus when we look at a potential loan fee and associated agents costs it seemed from the start a very strange deal for the swans to pursue.

We are certain that later today more information will be forthcoming on this matter.

Back at the start of December we had a disclosure that Jake Bidwell was of interest to two championship clubs, one being Birmingham City. The press picked up on our report here –> Bidwell exclusive and that interest it seems is still there with Birmingham City favourites to sign him if indeed an agreement can be reached. Bidwell’s fee wouldn’t be a huge amount but it will be a deciding factor in a successful move to the blues.

Jake Bidwell currently out of favour at Swansea

Russell Martin will be frustrated today, but he has numerous irons in the fire this month including Manchester City left back Josh Wilson-Esbrand as an example. It’s almost a certainty some business is going to take place between Swansea and Manchester City with the links forged between the clubs in recent times.
