Our Matt O’Riley reports throughout January come to fruition
Tuesday, 1st Feb 2022 15:51 by Keith Haynes

Swansea City had numerous deals lined up this transfer window, but as is now being reported by the mainstream press those transfers went unsanctioned by the majority American owners. The first deal was Matt O’Riley from MK Dons so let’s start there.

Here’s part one of our January transfer window reports.

The report via this website that O’Riley was a target came on the first of this month. We had discussed this player on numerous occasions over the past few months. This is how we reported it.

Our discussion board was full of Matt O’Riley posts, and we managed to get some information that a deal was underway. And then we assessed the places the swans needed to improve upon. O’Riley again was highlighted.

Russell Martin, where does he need help ?

Then it seemed the terms had been withdrawn, and only the majority owners could do that. We reported this on January 11th 2022.

Matt O’Riley transfer on hold

You can see from the report above that Ryan Giles gets a mention, another player who saw his potential signing collapse last night. Then Russell Martin being aware that funds needed to come in we reported his comments again on January 14th.

Significant funds required

We could go on, but now the mainstream media, Wales on Line as an example report today that the deal for Matt O’Riley was agreed, a payment plan agreed, but the American majority owners wouldn’t sanction the move. A move which Celtic then jumped on and signed the player as soon as his move to the swans was blocked. Cries of where’s ‘Matt O’Riley’ in our direction would play themselves out in due course, and very sadly as we now see today, the truth was actually out there.

There has been disappointment this transfer window, but it’s not all negative, there have been some bright moments but now Russell Martin finds himself in a scrap for points and confirmation he is the right man for the swans.
