Nathanael Getting Ogbeta
Thursday, 3rd Mar 2022 15:59 by @cornish67David

See what we did there ? New swans signing Nathanael Ogbeta is back in light training after five weeks of disappointment rehabilitating from a hamstring pull. After ten minutes of his first Swansea training session he broke down and hasn’t been able to join in any physical team activity. However, the added value for Nathanael has been gaining an understanding of the Russell Martin way when it comes to training his Swansea players, both mentally and physically.

You didn’t really thing the swans boss would let this opportunity slip by did you ?

It’s great news for Nathanael who should see some more physical activity introduced to his training plan next week. Russell Martin is pleased as well. “Nathanael is getting closer, he was out on the grass today with the rest of the lads, but we need to build him up as it’s a new level of football for him in new surroundings. So we will not rush him, but we hope he will be with us in the next couple of weeks.” That’s sensible from the swans boss who places a lot of reliance on his medical staff and as we have heard before respects their opinions totally.

Moving on and reflecting on the victory at West Bromwich Albion Martin was enthusiastic about his squads current situation. “I think we will be the same as Monday in terms of availability, everyone from that game at West Brom is available and fit and trained today,” said the Swansea head coach. Our injury record has been pretty good, there’s been a few niggles which you would expect, but overall it has been good. We had Kyle back and he is very important for us, not just defensively, but in terms of how calm he is on the ball”

It won’t be lost on Coventry boss Mark Robins that forced and unforced errors have come from all three swans goalkeepers this season. Right from the first game of the season with Steven Benda to Ben Hamer and now Andy Fisher. It’s hard to recall a game when the strategy of ball retention from the back hasn’t gone wrong at some point. This is an area where most Swansea City fans do have their hearts in their mouths at times. The team is almost picking itself for Saturday’s game, and that’s no surprise with very little in reserve. It is however a great opportunity for the swans to extend their unbeaten run at home, well, to make it three on the bounce. To be able to say that is marginally comforting after recent performances.
