Joel Piroe turns down the opportunity for a new Swansea City deal
Thursday, 19th May 2022 09:42 by Keith Haynes

Joel Piroe’s agents have confirmed that the Swansea City striker doesn’t want to discuss a new and improved contract at Swansea City. Despite contact with Piroe’s agents they have stated that an extension and improved deal is not an option for him.

Many Swansea City fans will see this as further evidence that Piroe will be leaving the club this summer. After signing for the swans in July last year and having a remarkable season it seems Piroe is most certainly reviewing his options. Currently in Italy Piroe left his options open at the end of the season stating he would see what the future brings.

Russell Martin has commented on the situation. "It's something that Joel's representatives are not interested in at this moment in time. I know Julian Winter ( swans CEO ) has mooted that to them but at this minute they don't think that is an option."

That will disappoint Swansea City fans but Russell Martin will see this as positive news, any fee gained by the club will go a long way to realising his ambitions for the coming season. And despite some swans fans believing the club will sell Piroe for any fee that won’t be the case, that’s already been confirmed by the club.

Martin continued. "Julian has been speaking to his agent’ a lot’ to see if there is any change, but absolutely nothing, no." So there it is the first snub of the summer comes from within the playing staff. It seems to us that Piroe has his mind firmly fixed on seeing what offers are out there over the coming weeks. As it stands if that’s the case let’s hurry him along to the exit door, as much as Joel Piroe at this time doesn’t seem to want to be a part of next seasons Swansea City squad at this time, we don’t want him to be a part of it either if he can’t open up to the club and state exactly what he wants.

That’s the way it goes Joel.
