Young Arsenal keeper to sign in June and Hannes Wolf LATEST
Saturday, 21st May 2022 09:00 by @Cornish67David

Arsenal under eighteen goalkeeper Remy Mitchell is set to join Swansea City on a three year deal after discussing terms over the last week. He isn’t seen as direct competition with Andy Fisher or Steven Benda but more as a first choice at reserve level. The swans have released three goalkeepers this week, and with only Lewis Webb as a serious contender in reserve Remy will be seen as a replacement for Nico Defreitas-Hansen who disappointed after signing from Everton.

Swans fans should remember that Mitchell has only featured for the Arsenal under eighteen side and his experience above that is very limited. He will be seen as a player who can slowly adapt to the way Russell Martin wants to see his team play, and Mitchell is noted for his composure on the ball.

That aside Hannes Wolf is hoping that the swans can put together some form of deal for him to return again next season. Any hope of a free transfer should be put aside as his value to his parent club Borussia Mönchengladbach is above ten million pounds. That said his contract still has two years to run at the German club and we believe they are open to a further loan spell at Swansea. The issue there is his loan fee and salary will be way above Swansea City’s current financial remit. So something has to give to get Wolf back next season.

Wolf along with out of contract ( in June ) Joe Allen who wants to return to west Wales as a duo would eat up a huge part of the current budget should they come back to the swans. With two central defenders also on the shopping list according to CEO Julian Winter there’s surely going to be a big transfer out from the swansea.com this summer. That player rumoured continues to be Joel Piroe, however we do know this morning that any bids have to be well in excess of ten million pounds for clubs to even start talking to Swansea.

And no interest has been reported.

Any discussions can’t really happen until June in any event but that won’t stop the media speculating on our exclusive report from December on Leicester City monitoring matters with regards to the Dutchman.

Numerous websites reported our story.

We also hear that another Arsenal player from the north London’s release list is also of interest to the swans under twenty three squad, but news on this is limited. We continue to delve that much deeper in to Swansea City news as we do every day, and will always offer you more context on that news, especially during the closed season.

A knock on the door is never that far away, which makes the next week or so that more interesting.
