Barry Fry still playing with the press over Steven Benda

Swansea City were never going to get a million pounds ( actually £900k ) for Steven Benda, but then again it’s hardly possible they will get half that figure. With Barry Fry the Peterborough United sporting director continuing to play games in the press over Benda it’s getting more than likely he won’t see the German keeper back at London Road.

Stating yesterday that he couldn’t afford the new price let alone the wages tells us he isn’t interested, and then referring to Benda as a league one goalkeeper when he is in the championship doesn’t help either. Talking to his local newspaper ( again ) he said, “He is earning far more than we could pay him. We have other targets and we have made progress on a couple of players. We could well bring in a couple of players on loan, including a goalkeeper. We are talking to a Premier League club about a loan player, but that deal is taking time”

That’s fine, and Swansea City should read these quotes from Fry and take them for exactly what they are, Fry is a man who has meddled and peddled players for decades. He is playing games and really after this there shouldn’t be any reason why Fry should mention it again.

Despite this we have no doubt he will be back with more to say, maybe Russell Martin or whoever is making these calls should just ignore him from now on, otherwise he will get the swans jumping through more hoops. The message is simple, leave Fry to mutter his oddities to the press, and let us get on with sorting our own back yard out.

Barry Fry has been playing the same tunes for years and years, he has never changed. And at seventy seven years of age, the only tricks he knows are old ones.
