Will Troy Parrott repeat a second Russell Martin move ?
Tuesday, 14th Jun 2022 14:14 by Keith Haynes

Russell Martin signed Troy Parrott on loan for MK Dons last season and then abruptly departed the club to join Swansea City. Now with Spurs wanting him to find his feet at a higher level again the swans are reportedly interested in a loan deal.

Parrot was chased by the swans a few years ago but he chose Millwall instead of Swansea, a bad move for him on reflection. He then switched to Ipswich and that wasn’t a great decision either. However last season for MK Dons he managed one goal in four games and seven assists, coupled with his other attributes he was a very effective part of their promotion push. It took him a while to understand his worth to the MK Dons but when he clicked he really did find his feet quickly, not dissimilar to Michael Obafemi for the swans.

Now with fourteen appearances for his national side the Republic of Ireland international is ready for one more loan move to the championship which Spurs have already endorsed. Both player and club agree a further season of development will help the twenty year old Dublin born man in his determination to play for Spurs in 2023/24. It would of course be music to the ears of Michael Obafemi who also plays for the Republic and both could form a dangerous partnership in the championship. Both scored in the 3-0 win over Scotland on Saturday.

Could this be the swans attacking line up next season ?

Talks if they do happen, and there seems to be a lot of interest in Parrott will go ahead with interested parties later this week - and Martin is keen to get his work done quickly. If Parrott does join the swans it will push Joel Piroe closer to the out door as this month progresses.

Another swans target and Republic international Chiedozie Ogbene looks to return to his national side this week. Many are touting Parrott for a Swansea shirt next season, and with other talks still ongoing it’s looking certain one of those players coming in will be a goal scorer.
