Russell Martin and his Swansea City squad are getting down to work today after arriving at Pennyhill Park in Surrey for pre season training. After a weekend of tests and training plans being formatted the first team squad are in Bagshot for the rest of this week. The facilities are recognised as some of the best in Europe, and that’s endorsed by Russell Martin.

Talking to the official site and beaming from ear to ear it’s clear the swans manager is excited not only by new arrival to the squad, Harry Darling but the fact it’s time at last to get down to pre season business. “It’s a great setting and I think it is really important because the players gave us some brilliant feedback after being here last season,”

That stint in Surrey for last seasons Swansea City squad was brought about by Steve Cooper who would days later leave the swans. This summer a far more relaxed looking swans squad are ready to get down to business with no alarming back stories as to the future of the manager or staff. The club after signing Harry Darling from MK Dons are clearly supporting the manager again. That’s great news for swans fans, a relaxed and supported team in wonderful facilities can only go well for the next six weeks before the season starts.

The clubs new travel wear range was also on display as Russell Martin and his players arrived at the exclusive Surrey location.

Russell Martin added, “When we were discussing our plans for pre-season with the players, who are the most important people to consider in these things, they were really keen to avoid travelling abroad because of the time it takes, and any other potential issues. They kept coming back to how good they had found things here last summer, they really enjoyed the facilities and the surroundings.
