Swansea City forward has been told there are clubs in for him

Swansea forward Kyle Joseph has been told that a number of clubs are in for his signature on a loan basis for the rest of the season. Derby County are most certainly one of those clubs, but there are others. The talented twenty year old is most certainly on a lot of clubs radar.,

Kyle was surprisingly left out of Saturdays draw with Rotherham United in favour of Liam Cullen who sat out the ninety on the bench. Having played in the under 21 game v Brentford B and scoring twice last week it seems Kyle could be another one on his way out. We say surprisingly as Kyle actually does have the pace that Russell Martin requires in his team plus he does have a goal threat, so it seems quite strange. Surely a competitive and pacey forward in Kyle Joseph is better than swans fans having to question why Liam Cullen is ahead of him ?

It seems a long time ago when Kyle put pen to paper at Swansea, back then he had his sights set on a lot more than he has experienced since Russell Martin took charge at the club. “When I was 13, I was just playing football with my mates in the street. I was not at an academy, I had been looked at scouts and been told ‘he’s good, but he’s nothing special’,” he says. It was always at the back of my mind to take that and use that to drive me and prove people wrong, and I think I have done that since I started my football journey. It’s the thing I love to do most. I had played for Sefton Schoolboys, and then got moved up to Merseyside Schoolboys, but when they found out I was not at an academy they did not want me. Then I signed for Wigan, and I have been at Wigan for six years, I had developed through the academy and got my chance this season. The club has obviously been through hell, but it gave me an opportunity and I wanted to make the most of it when it came to me, and I hope I did that. It’s got me to this point today. The main thing is always to be playing for the first team, that’s where everyone wants to be and that’s where it really matters. It means something to the fans, you are not playing for yourself, you are playing to make people happy, to try and put smiles on faces and to win football matches. That’s what I am here to do”

It is annoying for many of us to see a talent such as Kyle not in the first team squad when he could well be. Russell Martin has said that he can only pick so many players, that’s true of course, but it isn’t satisfactory for us in any event to see Liam Cullen ahead of Kyle. Liam has had numerous opportunities over three seasons and looked a far better player under Steve Cooper than he does today, There can only be one reason for Kyle’s exclusion and that’s the club hope he leaves on a loan deal as he did last season to Cheltenham Town.

Many Swansea City followers are keen to see him included in the match day squad, and with all due respects to Cullen it has to be time to see him either moved on permanently or loaned again for the season. There is now a clear thirty one days of the transfer window to run, and if Kyle Joseph does leave Swansea then it will limit Martin’s choices if injuries affect Michael Obafemi or Joel Piroe. With that all said and with the news that Ryan Bennett is not going to be at the club for much longer ( it seems ) there is still some players out business to come.

It’s just an opinion, but this decision just isn’t good enough.

Liam really wasn’t a better player under Cooper, he just ran around a lot.
