New players coming in over the next ten days ?
Friday, 19th Aug 2022 18:33 by Swans Indie

News is circulating that two players have been earmarked to come in to Swansea City over the next week or so. Both players would have been in already had we seen been more positive movement out of the club. Ryan Bennett as an example. That seems pretty unlikely as of today. To us that indicates loan players are the targets, not the best or ideal way to recruit this late in the transfer window

However, there is also some awareness more players could leave and the club has a contingency in place if as an example a late bid for Joel Piroe is successful. Piroe’s recent form won’t tease a higher fee from interested clubs, It’s now at a stage that can be used as a negotiation lever to gain a lower fee for him to move.

That’s not good news for the swans but it’s a reality.

Swans boss Russell Martin has confirmed that plans to bring in players have to take precedence now and he is awaiting the go ahead or otherwise to recruit the two players he has wanted for some weeks. Today Martin indicated some of his preferred choices were already at their new clubs which has shortened the list he has of targets. He is also quoted as not liking a mad rush at the end of the transfer window.

There will be more discussions with the ownership group in the USA Alger the coming days.

With Martin confirming that there should be some progress on new arrivals over the next few days we will keep you up to date on any news as it happens here on Swansea Independent.
