Swansea City now ready to talk transfers *Latest*
Sunday, 13th Nov 2022 13:45 by Keith Haynes

Attention has already turned to Swansea City’s transfer business as Russell Martin, Josh Marsh and Julian Winter are already focussing in on business to be concluded in January. Surprisingly as we understand it a striker isn’t on the cards ( at this time ) especially when the swans are struggling to score goals and put games away.

Of course the fate of Michael Obafemi and Joel Piroe will always be under discussion, FL72 today are referencing the business the swans could do with these two potential January targets. Obafemi is still focussing on his football at the moment, but come next month and the first game back for the swans on December 10th he will be looking to impress. It’s the time of year when players do seem to crumble a bit as well. We saw that with Jamie Paterson last year at the same time and of course with Obafemi at the end of the last transfer window.

A definite insight in to a players loyalty to the clubs they play for.

As we reported last December, exclusively - Martin likes to get his transfer business lined up quickly and getting his ducks in a row is his main objective. This was evident regards the transfer of Andrew Fisher a year ago.

Russell Martin seems pretty happy with the progress of Morgan Whittaker in a clever move to get him to Plymouth instead of sitting on the swans bench. Anyone who thinks he wouldn’t be see Liam Cullen. Whittaker has been firing them in for the pilgrims all season, and despite his desire to stay at Plymouth this season why go out and buy a new striker with such a talent already on your staff ?

Swansea have recent history in recalling players as they did last January with Kyle Joseph from Cheltenham. Any recall caveats for Whittaker are similar but the exact detail we don’t know. Two players would settle this season for Swansea, we have seen what pace can do in this Russell Martin system from the short involvement of Armstrong Oko-Flex yesterday at Huddersfield. Shoe horning Joel Latibeaudiere and to a lesser extent Matt Sorinola in to those wide areas has cost the swans dearly this season. Neither have really shone, and definitely haven’t turned a game around. It is a serious area of the squad to examine.

Josh Marsh, head of football operations we understand has four potential targets for January on a sliding financial scale ( dependent on players leaving and recovery of money for those sales ) which is sensible. Even if we knew who those are we wouldn’t say at this point, we don’t, but when it’s right as per the Hannes Wolf announcement which we exclusively revealed we will.

That was here –> Hannes Wolf exclusive

The measure of any exclusive is easily researched on the internet, it’s as simple as that, isn’t it ? How annoying can we be ! Ask me personally, always happy to engage. Don’t choke on your Sunday roast, well, not just yet.

It isn’t a surprise Swansea City are already deep in to their January planning, we wouldn’t expect anything less, this is a league the swans can really compete in this season. And to neglect that with what we have seen so far this season would most certainly be a huge mistake.
