Jamie Paterson deal to Coventry is agreed ? Let’s hope so
Saturday, 14th Jan 2023 11:46 by @Cornish67David

Jamie Paterson came to Swansea City on a free transfer and quickly earned the clubs supporters affections with some stunning performances, the desire to play, run, and give one hundred percent for the clubs shirt the fans only priority for all players.

We hear today that Jamie Paterson will be in Coventry over the next forty eight hours for a medical and a fee of around two hundred and fifty thousand pounds is agreed. There will be add ons. This has come from a variety of sources which we have been unable to confirm through our own today. That said it was apparent two days ago that a move was on the cards to Coventry City. This latest news is unsupported through our trusted sources which we are working on.

That report is here –> Paterson latest

With the new Coventry City ownership rubber stamped and in place a bid for Paterson isn’t a surprise. Swansea City have been keen to see the back of him for a number of months. His behaviour over January and February last season earned him bad press when he wanted a pay rise, and since then he has been a liability on the pitch. He was fined by the club ( an automatic occurrence in all disciplinary cases ) but through the support of Russell Martin that was rescinded. Even with that support he has failed to live up to the extra money he believed he was worth so a fee for him is good business for Swansea.

Jamie Paterson does have the ability to deliver some stunning performances and he no doubt will do so initially at Coventry. However, we are certain once he gets his feet under the table he will once again cause issues within the squad. Coventry are welcome to him, some players just aren’t worth the hassle.

Jamie Paterson at Swansea can be summed up as a disappointing time for the club and supporters, the people that matter the most. During his fifty or so games for the swans he had a bright spell between September and November 2021, that was pretty much it, what followed after that was a player who held the swans to ransom. And for us here, that’s not worthy of any loving goodbye, just warm the car up and get him gone.

It’s just a shame it has taken so long.
