Swansea City’s crazy news day in SA1
Friday, 5th May 2023 18:46 by @Cornish67David

Luke Cundle Swansea City’s on loan midfielder is delighted with his progress under Russell Martin this season and has stated he wouldn’t mind returning to the club next season. In other news new investor Andy Coleman is appointed Chairman at the Swans. Add to that Russell Martin stating he wants three out of contract players to stay and we have more news than we have had all week.

First of all Andy Coleman joins Swansea City
Speaking of his new appointment at Swansea Coleman said this afternoon. "I have seen first hand on my numerous visits to Swansea, the passion and commitment of the supporters, and how much it means to this city," Coleman said in a statement issued by the club. “I'm putting my whole life into this club and this community. I promise to work tirelessly to represent the club in a manner that supporters can take pride in. I want to share in their enthusiasm for the club and its success, and I want all of us to enjoy it together. The facilities and infrastructure are best-in-class, and we look forward to building on the club's strengths to put Swansea City in the best possible position to achieve our shared goals."

It is understood Coleman will move to west Glamorgan with his family in the immediate future. Since new investment has been negotiated to come in to the club with Coleman very much a part of the ‘group of three’ Nigel Morris ( below ) and Brett Cravatt. The new Swans chairman has been involved at DC United with Jason Levien a part of the clubs majority shareholder group. Levien talking on the appointment said. “I am pleased that Andy will be the new chairman of Swansea City and operating partner in Swansea. We believe what Swansea City needs now is a chairman on the ground with the authority to run the club. Andy’s passion for this project is palpable, and his commitment and leadership are exactly what the club needs”

Then Luke Cundle sings Russell Martin’s praises
Cundle speaking to the media this afternoon has stated he would like to return to the Swans next season. I would love to come back to Swansea. It’s been great for me, not just developing on the pitch but off the pitch as well, in a different changing room environment. There’s a lot of room for improvement so I wouldn’t mind coming back again and playing again. I think it’s a possibility — I will just see.” Luke believes Russell Martin’s training and development has seen a vast improvement in him as a person and as a player. We do know as we reported recently that Wolves are delighted with his season with the Swans. The indy had a Cundle feature recently.

Russell wants more talks
Russell Martin has also called for three of his soon to be out of contract players to be offered new deals. We recently reported (link below) that Manning would have one more opportunity to seal a new deal to remain at Swansea. Martin said today. "To hear how much he's grown as a person as well as a player under us was really the best thing for us. I hope we can continue to grow together, if we can't, I hope we look at ourselves as a club and realise that we've given it the best shot we possibly can. I hope it means there's maybe one more discussion there that tips the balance in our favour”

That’s here –> One more chance for Manning

It has to be said though Manning would cost Swansea City almost double the money he is on now ( at least ) plus a huge sum as a signing on fee. It’s highly improbable. That’s our Friday evening news, and as you can see, we try and stay ahead of the next Swansea news story, we don’t always get it right but we do try and examine what we know personally with what we are told to bring you the best Swansea City news. We will bring you the latest on Joel Latibeaudiere and Kyle Naughton tomorrow, plus Joel Piroe.

Keep it here Jacks.

a) A brave new dawn b) Hundred of quality players out of contract c) new investment with cash to spend d) New head or recruitment.
The manager it sees to me is somewhat over sentimental for his role and out of synchronisation. He wants to keep FOUR of his mid of the road team with more losses than wins (including cup games) MANNING OK LATIBEAUDIERE probably better available CUNDLE Only on a permanent deal NAUGHTON What is he thinking? This is not brave new dawn. This is Mr Mid table and happy.
