Swans v Foxes : Latest news, weather and managers pre match
Friday, 20th Oct 2023 20:54 by Liam Walters

The Swans take on Leicester City tomorrow afternoon (3pm) at the Swansea.Com Stadium. The managers are having their say as kick off approaches on the eve of the game.

Michael Duff has highlighted numerous areas he wants to force upon the opposition, and not be controlled by the fact they are in his words ‘league winners in waiting’. “You go back to that Sheffield Wednesday game, we had been through a difficult run but they stuck with us and were so positive in how they backed us. That is huge, hopefully they can see what we are building, we have had some positive results. We will certainly need them on Saturday because we are playing against a really good side, and I know they will be right with us. But we don’t want to just survive on Saturday, we want to try and impose ourselves”

There’s no reason why not as well. If the Foxes do win it will be a hard fought three points.

Leicester City and the Swans have agreed to express their sympathies for the humanitarian crisis in the Palestine area of the Middle East. The Foxes tweeted today. “ In light of the tragic events unfolding in the conflict in Israel and Palestine, we will join clubs this weekend in expressing our deepest sympathies to all those affected and our support for the humanitarian crisis in the region”

Manager Enzo Maresca highlighted the need for the international break and has concentrated on players who spent their time at Leicester with a number if call ups. “We had ten or eleven players here, so we tried to focus with all of them,” Maresca said. “We did something specific this time with Stephy, Abdul, and Marc, the wingers. It’s the best. When you like to be on the pitch and coach players, it’s the best moment. It’s what we like, to try to teach them and to improve them. It’s a good moment. During the international break, we have time to spend with them to improve the small details. During the season, there is no time to work. With Stephy, with Abdul, we tried to work on the first touch, the first control. Sometimes it has to be with the right, sometimes it has to be with the left, just to teach them when to use one, and when to use the other one.”

Covering the chances of a loss Maresca said. He said: “I think even if we lose, it’s a fantastic start. We are focused about tomorrow’s game. Especially we are focused on what we have to do. It’s a consequence. If we do the right things, nine (times out) of ten, or eight (times out) of ten, you get the results by doing the right things. Sometimes even if you do the right things, unfortunately you don’t win. We are just thinking about tomorrow’s game.”

Make of that what you will.

Despite the horrendous weather of ,ate the forecast is decent in Swansea, there’s only a ten percent chance of rain during the game and temperatures could rise to 14c. It will be cloudy, and conditions are good for football with light winds.

We will have lots more in the morning on the game as we progress towards kick off.
