Swansea City : The focus now is improvement, it’s Stoke tomorrow

The Swans and the incredible Jack Army travel to Stoke City for Tuesdays evening kick off in the EFL Championship ( 7:45pm ) Alan Sheehan was delighted with the win at Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon, despite the opposition going down to ten men.

Stoke City are not having a good season and even yesterday their turmoil continued as they sacked manager Alex Neil. The Potters recent form leaves them at the foot of the Championship over the last six games. Mind you the Swans aren’t looking too clever either.

The opportunity for Alan Sheehan to increase his popularity with the real fans of the Swans is there for tomorrow nights game.A positive strategy come the game, with a determination to boss the ball and put pressure on the home side will surely pay of on the Swans second away game on the trot. The next two are at home, Middlesbrough on Saturday and Preston North End on Friday 22nd December. That fixture has a £1 under 12 kids incentive.

We’ve been sent the programme notes ( pre match brief ) for the game ( sorry Andy but you know how it is. like you we love a Sunday rant ) Alan Sheehan in the first draft is asking for that extra bit of effort for this game. He’s looking for a more positive approach after Saturdays win, he realises it won’t happen overnight but application is important. It’s about progress and pride.

On the Potters latest news they have John Eustace, Paul Heckingbottom and Kevin Muscat as their top three candidates if reports are accurate. To be honest they are a fair reflection. Ben Wilmot and Sead Haksabanovic are definitely out for this game, Tyrese Campbell is fit and other contenders for selection are summer signings Andre Vidigal and Ryan Mmaee. The Swans should be wary, Stoke are a wounded animal and new players coming in could see extra effort to impress, and a more professional attitude which Stoke haven’t seen at times this season.
