Swans close to Birmingham sell out & away day info latest
Wednesday, 10th Jan 2024 08:00 by Keith Haynes

Swansea City are close to selling out their 1,800 away allocation for Saturday when they take on Birmingham City at St Andrews. ( KO 3pm ) That’s great news as the Luke Williams feel good factor has gripped the Jack Army.

The Swans have always taken very large supports to the Birmingham area be that whatever team they are playing. Saturday we are sure will be a complete away sell out, and we know how loud the Jack Army can be. There is little chance at this point for extra tickets. With both teams now having new managers Birmingham City are expecting a larger than usual crowd. The home ends are expected to be in and around the twenty three thousand mark.

Away fans info for Saturday

Sat Nav :Cattell Rd, Birmingham, West Midlands, B9 4RL
There are a number of car parks very close by, the charge is £5.

Two of the more hospitable bars within ten minutes of St Andrews are the bar at Hotel Ibis and the Cricketers Arms ( referred to as Cricketer ) in St Andrews Shopping area, which is located behind the Morrisons supermarket. Another decent bet is the large Wetherspoons known as the Square Peg in Corporation Street. In the evening it is often manned by doormen who may refuse entry to large groups of “visible” football fans. The Anchor in Bradford Street is the venue we highly recommend for away fans. Nearby to New Street just off the ramp is The Shakespeare Victorian Pub and The Sun on The Hill which both stock a decent choice of real ales. Nearby to Snow Hill Station there is the Old Contemptibles which is an Oak Bar. The Jekyll & Hyde, the gin parlour, has now sadly closed.

The last time the Swans beat the Blues was on a Wednesday night back in July 2020. (1-3) That night the Swans had an attacking line of Andre Ayew, Rhian Brewster and Conor Gallagher. In midfield Jay Fulton and Matt Grimes featured and there was one Marc Guehi at the back. Ben Cabango (below) Rhian Brewster and Fulton scored for the Swans. However, since then Swansea have failed to win in seven attempts.
