Latest news on the Swans and Joe Low plus Luke Williams & WBA
Tuesday, 31st Dec 2024 08:00 by Liam Walters & Keith Haynes

There’s been some touchy responses throughout the Swans supporting world since head coach, Luke Williams blustered his way through the question on West Bromwich Albion and their interest in his services. Plus we have news on Joe Low today.

First off, Luke Williams the first thing we have noticed since head coach was linked to the West Bromwich Albion job and his response post Luton Town is the silence from within the Swansea.com stadium. By that we mean those tight lipped people with their fingers on the pulse who are being extremely cagey on what they could say regards this latest news.

What we have learned is that the new investors group, who are now very much involved in transfer window decision making are surprised at the general response from Swansea fans on a potential departure. The fanbase are either split in their opinions regards Luke leaving, or are shrugging their shoulders either way. Is this adding fuel to the rumours that the Swans want to get in a new man ? Yes, only rumours but these issues with Luke Williams need to be settled and then publicly announced to add stability to this season. New investors like new faces when they commit their money to a new venture. Well, that was evident last year when Russell Martin departed just weeks after Andrew Coleman was installed as Chairman. In fact Martin was made aware of his potential position by then investor Steve Kaplan way back in March 2023. They met in a London hotel just prior to the Swans beating Millwall at the New Den. Coleman was already in talks back then.

And now Coleman has a major financier on board in the shape of Tyler Morse.

This not only affects the fans confidence but most certainly affects players who have already had talks with Swansea City. It’s a situation that could make or break the January window, and indeed the remainder of this season which is now into the second half.

On the forthcoming window we do have news on Joe Low away from the Swans and have been informed that the Swans recent offer was pretty disappointing as far as Wycombe Wanderers were concerned. In fact as it stands the Swans now know they have to gather themselves quickly and prepare a more attractive bid to get Joe to Swansea. He is ‘extremely keen’ to join Swansea City. He is quite down the pecking order at Wycombe salary wise, it has been suggested to us he is in around £2,400 a week at the Chairboys. We haven’t got any way of confirming that but what we can confirm is the following. Swansea City are going to have to at least move into the upper hundreds of thousands to get Wycombe’s interest. The rejected bid we reported exclusively yesterday morning (and then plagiarised by ‘Football League World’ seven hours later) wasn’t anywhere near going to interest Joe’s current employers. We think now the Swans have to move into £750,000 plus territory with appealing add ons, and that’s the opinion of people with far more knowledge on this transfer than us.

What we do know is talks will happen later today. And Andrew Coleman is heading up those discussions.

Indy exclusive ⚽️ Joe Low bid rejected

In Low we have a player who wants to move to Swansea City, he has an opportunity to triple his salary and be at a club that believes it is building towards another Premier League tilt. And as a Welshman he is ready to join the likes of fellow Cardiff born player, Ben Cabango. At Swansea he will certainly be more in the eye of Wales manager, Craig Bellamy, and that will progress his career. It’s an exciting proposition for him.

Of course consistency is now needed at the club and Luke and his staff remaining in place would constitute a desire from the main leadership to press on. Jason Cohen, Brett Cravatt and Andrew Coleman are there now to progress the Swans as a club, as they have done over recent months. Tyler Morse was then appointed to the board in an Indy exclusive. You can read that below.

In fact our other exclusive information piece on the new owners came a few weeks before the new board and takeover was revealed.

Please, always gauge us by our reporting not by what others ignore and choose to berate in their behind closed doors Twitter accounts. It’s only jealousy and we really do appreciate the many thousands of you who visit us every day.

We managed to get the exclusive on Ben Cabango signing as well.

Well, if nobody out there isn’t going to blow a few trumpets we will keep on blowing our own.
