Blackburn Rovers come to the Swansea.com on Saturday without a permanent head coach or manager, but with little injury concerns bar one player.

Aitor Karanka and ex-Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael are in the mix for the job at Ewood Park amongst numerous others, but that won’t be decided before this game. Phil Jones, now retired, an ex Blackburn youth and senior player has talked about his interest in the role, "Blackburn was my life. I’ve always stayed in contact with them, I always followed them even when I moved to United. That would be an incredible achievement, but I’ve still got a long way to go. We’ll see”

Defender, Danny Batth is out with a hamstring injury and interim boss, David Lowe is looking forward to the trip, “The squad are really up for it, they want to finish the season on a high. Hopefully, if they can finish on a high – with myself or a new manager – we will find ourselves in the play-offs. The fixtures have come thick and fast lately but Rovers have had a full week on the training pitch to prepare for Saturday’s fixture”

Then of course the Swans are in the same position. They too have an interim head coach in Alan Sheehan who looked a bit uncomfortable in his pre match interview today. Coy at times, and trying to concentrate on one game, that being this Saturday. He was thoughtful in his answers sometimes taking his time with his replies, thinking ? … Far different to Luke Williams, but of course they are different people. We think there will be changes on Saturday when Alan Sheehan tells his squad his choices for this weekend. That will be tomorrow. However, as he stated today “You can’t please everyone in football, otherwise you will be disappointed”

Despite caution from Sheehan,Joe Allen will not feature on Saturday, however he is back in training. Pointless risking him at this time. You can see the whole fifteen minute interview below. It’s very clear that Sheehan doesn’t like the limelight, but what did come over is his desire in explaining how he functions with the players. And that should be reassuring. The Swans are still to win at home this year.
