Belgium v Wales : Bellamy having the best year of his life, Dan James out Monday, 9th Jun 2025 17:35 by Swansea Independent Wales are 7/1 to win tonight’s game at some bookmakers this afternoon, but that won’t bother the thousands of away fans in Brussels this afternoon. With harmony in the air amongst the ‘majority’ the game tonight is a fixture Craig Bellamy isn’t afraid to go for from the off. What will bother people is that a couple of nasty robberies occurred yesterday evening with one supporter being dragged into an alleyway and mugged by a group of men. There have also been instances of phone thefts. Fairly typical for a city like Brussels but the fans embassy have posted matters on their X account. There is also a huge amount of Swans fans in the city for this evenings game, currently there is little to report bar a few words of warning. This when a certain clubs ‘fans’ wander a little bit too close to flags representing our club. Again par for the course but one of the saddest things you can see at a ‘Wales’ game. On the pitch the focus by Wales head coach, Bellamy is most certainly victory. Especially now that North Macedonia have won 1-0 in Kazakhstan this afternoon. Talking in his time as head coach which has seen him start nine games undefeated. “I’ve actually just had the best year of my life. This has been the best. How did I get that at 45 ? It’s what I’ve been waiting for, but at the same time, it’s like I don’t know what’s around the corner. But I know what I’m going to do – enjoy everything. The good, the bad, whatever it is. Maybe I look too deep into stuff or maybe not. I try not to. But we’re here for a tiny, short time. I’m here today, I’ll be gone tomorrow, so why not enjoy it ?” As a result of the North Macedonia result Group J now looks like this. ![]() A point would be most welcome but Bellamy has other thoughts, Belgium looked rattled in North Macedonia which they drew 1-1, maybe not a bad result on the Macedonians current form. All told Wales have the tools to turnover the long odds on them winning this tie, and a win or a draw would put them top again. Sadly, Neco Williams hasn’t travelled and Dan James is out for this game. That will put extra responsibility on the shoulders of the attacking gift that Wales have.
