Swansea City : Stop the back slapping and get the basics right
Thursday, 14th Aug 2025 19:30 by Keith Haynes

Swansea City fans have had two days of frustration as their access to purchase tickets has been denied by the Ticketmaster website via the Swans official site. Some are getting access but the majority are not.

We have been advised that emails to the Swans support account are bouncing back with ‘can’t confirm your email’ We’ve had loads of people sending that info in. People also complaining about one hour waits for ticket office service and giving up is also a feature. And the upshot is thousands of seats still available for Saturdays game, some forty hours before the opening home fixture of the season.

It’s all well and good that the club CEO and others with stadium management responsibility slapping themselves on the back for Modrić and Snoop Dogg. All having pictures on their profiles of personal photographs with them. That was work done away from the city in the USA by the likes of Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen with close business contacts. What matters is once again that the heartbeat of this club, the people who really matter cannot get any form of service from the club itself. There’s been no communication of the issues on the official website, no advice on how tickets can be purchased (you would have thought outlets across Wales would have concessions, they don’t ) No reaching out to fans across the country, we have knowledge of over forty (and that’s just us) travelling from all over the UK for this game.

It’s another amateurish attempt by those employed and paid well to do a job at a top Championship club to run the basic management of Swansea City. You see you get credit when it’s deserved but when you let the beating heart of the club down and in such a public environment it’s embarrassing and shoddy. And we’ve no doubt that the excuses are being worked on, blaming Ticketmaster, the bloke who lives in the top flat off Glamorgan Street near Lifestyle Express - but will we hear an apology ? An accountable open reason for this overall lack of service, and not only tickets ?

Yes, Swans fans have had a number of days to purchase tickets, but not everyone lives within a short walk of the club. And on that why hasn’t the fixture been advertised outside the stadium recently ? Those back slaps seem to be an excuse to run Swansea City like the local charity shop. This whole lack of publicity for this game, no creativity and thought is backfiring on the club and its management who just expect you to turn up like lapdogs.

CEO Tom Gorringe stated himself only last night that everyone is responsible for the ticketing, nice move, well we’ve got news for you. As the CEO you oversee and direct stadium management as you are at the top of the tree. Your awareness of these situations and addressing them is managed by you. You should be right on it whilst millions of pounds is poured into the club by the actual owners as mentioned above. You are accountable, nobody else, and moving the goalposts to relinquish responsibility last night was about as poorly timed a comment as we’ve seen in many months. Swansea City is meant to be a professional football club, enjoy your photographs and back slapping but you are not doing your job, and already we know there’s people across the pond not happy with how this has all gone.

How can they be ?

Personally I’ve never been one to hide when it comes to situations such as this, my name is on this report, and I enjoy meetings in person even more, it’s the best way to have dialogue. Some of us spent a good few years saving this club and fighting a rotten core which means we still have a club today. And of course before the social media daisy pullers state we are calling the club out as rotten to the core we are not. It’s the basics, the very minimum isn’t being done, and this is another prime example. When any organisation be that public or private, when this type of thing happens, and it is the direct customer who is on the end of it, then everyone always looks to the top.

Take it as you want, but we won’t stand back and hide, never have, never will do and when it’s wrong at our club, you will always get to hear about it. Without fear or favour.
