Latest Swansea City transfer situation : Thursday evening - Idah etc Thursday, 28th Aug 2025 17:17 by Keith Haynes Certain Swans fans are getting excited over the recently linked players after the loss of potential signings Willem Geubbels and Kevin Carlos, albeit the latter wasn’t really into coming to Swansea it was merely an inquiry. Geubbels is now at Paris FC with the Swans believing early last week they had done enough to get their man, even Head Coach Alan Sheehan was positive before backing off a few days later. That was a huge blow to the Swans recruitment team as Geubbels had been in very positive talks, a big fee offered (over five years) with a decent first payment but Paris FC had other thoughts. They came in with nine million euros, added nigh on three million in add ons and crushed the rumoured Swans salary offer of eighteen thousand pounds a week, and that was a mere basic amount. Carlos preferred Nice, apparently it’s nice in Nice. Read our full report on Willem Geubbels below. Don’t rely on social media, work it out for yourself. The recently referenced players like Adam Idah, some believing Assistant Head Coach Darren O’Dea is the link, he isn’t. He may have helped since joining the Swans, however, the club had him down as a player to review, and that’s been on the agenda for months, going back to January. His numbers seem short for what the club want for a forward player, and the information bandied about yesterday and today seems chaotic. There’s little ‘real’ news on Idaho than what we have reported. Maybe the club believe under Swansea circumstances he will fit in ? Below Idah at the Como Tournament, Celtic v Ajax this summer. ![]() Moussa Sylla was always more of a thing than Jusef Erabi, but the Swans would surely have signed him by now. In the past we have reported both players were not what the Swans wanted at that time, Erabi is off the menu. However, are the club getting desperate to satisfy these striker demands from the fans ? Or as Alan Sheehan has already stated ‘We won’t sign players who fit for a few months and then become surplus’ Erabi from weeks ago. Lorient striker Sambou Soumano has been trailed by numerous clubs, and the Swans do like him but again, he hasn’t gone anywhere and remains in France at his club. There are clubs rumoured as interested, and even mention of a bid by Blackburn Rovers is being questioned. Patreon accounts on social media who have at best 27% hit rates (we’ve disproved rumours from them already this summer, one which stated a player was on his way to Swansea. We will potentially have a look at our summer reports next week) Pull it all together for you. CF Montreal forward, Sunusi Ibrahim, a one in five goalscorer is available for what would be considered a very cheap price from the MLS side. Marco Donadel, the clubs interim Head Coach doesn’t fancy him and allegedly Ibrahim wants out. This player, even if he on the Swans radar wouldn’t be considered as good as a Zân Vipotnik. On him there have been several inquiries as to his availability this week from sides in mainland Europe, this presents the club with a big decision to make. It’s no good bringing in players who aren’t able to perform on his level. Pointless. What we do know is the Swans are in no race for him. Ollie Cooper will have his position finalised at or away from Swansea by the time the window ends. Finally. Swansea City players, Ben Cabango and Liam Cullen are in the Wales squad for the first international break. One for the calendar being a home friendly v Canada on Sept 9th at the Swansea.com. There have also been senior international calls-ups for Lawrence Vigouroux (Chile), Ethan Galbraith (Northern Ireland), Cameron Burgess (Australia), Marko Stamenic (New Zealand) and Zan Vipotnik (Slovenia). There’s some air miles there. ![]() ![]() Idah : Reuters MT1SIPA0000RHQ6K Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
