Wales expects : Liechtenstein v Wales, World Cup Qualifier
Friday, 14th Nov 2025 16:44 by Swansea Independent

Wales are in Liechtenstein with one mission, win the game and get ready for Tuesday evening for the home fixture against North Macedonia. We have a number of Swans fans from this forum going to the game, including the more quieter subscribers on our website.

The ground will be supporting Wales in the main, it is on TV for those who cannot get there. You can watch the game on BBC 2 and S4C - and online on S4C, BBC iPlayer. Kick off is 5pm in the UK.

One player we have noticed in the age grade sides this week is one William Granger. He assisted one goal and scored another as Wales beat Japan this week. He is sixteen but played for Wales U19 this week against Japan with the young Wales side winning 3-2. He plays for Sheffield Wednesday and has already featured for their first team. Now that’s a young man that needs to be quickly introduced into the Wales way very quickly. They return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host the USA at the Racecourse, Wrexham (Stōk Cae Ras) looking to build on their strong start to the tournament. It is LIVE on the FAW YouTube site. Kick off is 2.30pm.

Latest news on tomorrow’s fixture is that Ben Davies, Ben Cabango and Kieffer Moore are out and Harry Wilson is suspended. That’s four players we are certain would have started this game. Dan James will be selected to start we are told and stated to Sgorio, “It’s hard to watch from afar and not be able to influence anything. I’m itching to go and I’ve put myself in a good position. I feel good mentally and physically to go and really put a stamp on this week and really help out the team.”

A lot of Wales fans are staying in Zurich and places outside of Liechtenstein.

⚽️Juxhin Xhaja of Albania (below) will take charge of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Liechtenstein and Cymru in Vaduz on Saturday. The 35-year-old has officiated across all of UEFA’s club competitions over the last six seasons together with international European qualifiers and Nations League fixtures. Arber Zalla and Rejdi Avdo are the assistant referees while Enea Jorgji will be the fourth official. Angelos Evangelou of Greecce will be the VAR and he will be assisted by Kreshnik Barjamaj. All of the officials apart from Evangelou are from Albania.

We will be following Wales over this long International weekend, stay up to date with the Indy.
