Vipotnik : Just where do they get this nonsense from ? Wednesday, 4th Mar 2026 08:00 by Liam Walters Zān Vipotnik has surfaced early in summer speculation with certain sites, and of late Wales On Line (seizing on news which is two days old) about a potential departure. Some outlets are reporting that certain clubs are ahead of others, and this club or that club are in for him. We’ve had a look around. Much like the West Ham speculation before and during the January window we have been told that everything that has been said about the top scorer in the Championship of late is nonsense. No way would any club or person, be that agent or player know who is ahead of who four months before the window opens. Especially as no talks have been held. They can’t be legally but we will leave that bit there. There may be agent chat as there is all year round but there’s one agent who has no idea where these rumours are coming from. Last summer Schalke, Bochum and Sunderland had interest in Zān, but that’s all it was. In Croatia, Dinamo Zagreb was mentioned to us, but nothing occurred. His agent, Saša Župan (we’ve reported much via the agency Bola Consulting on him and there is very solid and sound player / agent relationship between the two. In fact Saša we regard as a very professional individual. News coming from links to Bola Consulting is “There’s nothing to see here” Plus Swans CEO, Tom Gorringe has had little or no contact since January, and as we reported that was basic European interest. In January Zān wasn’t really available unless a ridiculous offer came in and even then if it had the Swans would have sidelined it until the summer. But nothing occurred. The general belief from those who know a lot of Zan’s preferences, and where he may want to go believe the clubs mentioned bar maybe Sunderland haven’t raised any interest, nor had any contact whatsoever. The likelihood of any club being ‘in the running’ or ahead of another is dismissed as ‘idle chat’ especially as early as it is after the last window closing. ![]() The market for a striker like Zān Vipotnik come the build up to the summer will be very busy, and you can expect a whole host of clubs to be mentioned when his name is put forwards. What we do know is that if he does leave Swansea at the end of this season it will be for a fee far more than anyone would have expected to pay last year. Which is the reason why a few clubs were sniffing about in the hope the Swans would take a few million for the player. We still maintain from conversations we have had that any deal will go above fifteen million pounds and there most certainly will be more than one club involved. In fact as this season has progressed that seems quite low set against his performances this season. Some people may well be expecting Zān Vipotnik to leave the Swans this summer and that is likely, but we also know the club won’t be letting him go without a long chat with him about his future at Swansea City. When you weigh off what the Swans have financially available it is unlikely there’s sufficient cash to interest him to stay. Remember Harry Darling and Lewis O’Brien last year ? The latter a dodged bullet for what the Swans were prepared to pay. Vipotnik could easily walk into a fifty thousand pounds a week contract elsewhere. He would only look at the Premier League if any offers came in, yes Europe does interest him but in any event none of it matters for now. How many Zān Vipotnik stories can you fit into a telephone box ? Well, just the one at the moment and that’s the one that says ‘Nothing to see here’ ![]() ⚽️ Go to this page and find out more It could save your life. Congratulations to nineteen year old midfielder Thomas Woodward for extending his contract at the Swans until 2029. 🔴 Read our Josh Tymon feature below as the Indy builds up to the big game on Saturday.
