Wales : Huge game as Ben Davies gets a golden cap Thursday, 26th Mar 2026 08:20 by Swansea Independent Tonight we will see how Wales manage a high pressure game in their World Cup semi final qualifier against Bosnia & Herzegovina. It’s a home tie and must be settled on the night and if required extra time then penalties will decide who goes through. Head Coach, Craig Bellamy is confident and has what he believes a team that can complete the task tonight. If they do then it’s a final play off under the same criteria against the winners of Italy and Northern Ireland in Bergamo this evening. Swansea City have Ethan Galbraith in the Northern Ireland squad and he is almost guaranteed a start. Bellamy : “I knew I would really enjoy this, but I didn’t realise how much. I’ve loved it and where we are exactly where we need to be. We’re not out of qualification in group stages. We’re a serious, capable nation and we’ve proved that over the last twelve odd years. We’ve kept it going and we will keep going some more. Imagine what the next two years are going to look like? You know where the Euros are going to be and the players we have coming through are exciting. But we have two games now to keep this marching forward. I honestly feel we should be at this tournament. We’re going to have to work hard to get there, but I believe we’d be a massive asset to the World Cup – our players, our fans and our coaching team. We’d add to it.” Before the game will be a moment for two ex Swansea City players Cliff Jones and Ben Davies to take centre stage. Ben will be awarded a gold cap by Cliff, both who went on to play for Tottenham Hotspur. The cap is to commemorate Ben’s one hundred caps for his country. ![]() Well, Cliff played in 193 games for Swansea scoring 54 goals. Not bad for a winger. And Ben played 85 times as a defender scoring 3 goals. Which has to be stated after the comments above from the FAW. There are a number of play off games tonight. ![]() Well, we are literally hours away from the big game tonight.
