Blades v Swans : Match day morning on the Indy ‘The very latest’ Friday, 3rd Apr 2026 08:10 by Keith Haynes It’s Easter and a time where we see a couple of fixtures within a few days of each other in a Championship which is going right down to the wire. Today’s fixture for the Swans has little riding on it bar pride after two losses which on reflection could have been very different. The losses against Coventry City and especially Wrexham away could easily have been avoided if the Swans had been more precise in their finishing and most certainly more aware of matters in their own penalty area. We’ve all seen the games, the mistakes and suffered the same frustrations as passing opportunities were missed or made too late. Finishing this season has been a real issue, goals aren’t coming from the midfield as much as everyone would like, and the supply from both wing outlets has definitely not been up to expectation. This is the reason why the Swans are on fifty two points and have won only three games in the last thirteen away. They have a 26% win rate away having scored just sixteen goals all season. The Swans have a -11 goal difference away. It all very much tells you that so many games could have gone differently. Mind you Oxford United are doing better. ![]() Swansea City stats as they stand pre match. ![]() The Swans beat the Blades in the reverse fixture when today’s hosts were down on their backsides form wise. That day the score ended 1-0 to the Swans with Ronald netting the only goal of the game. You can see the players delight after netting the winner. ![]() Chris Wilder also has injury concerns to contend with. Tyrese Campbell has undergone surgery and will miss the remainder of the campaign, although he is expected to return in time for pre-season. Wilder also provided updates on Kalvin Phillips and Joe Rothwell, saying: “We’ll hopefully get him out before the end of the season,” in reference to Phillips, while adding that Rothwell is working his way back towards full fitness. Keeper Michael Cooper remains sidelined, meaning Adam Davies will continue to deputise in goal. Adam Davies will start behind a back four likely featuring Femi Seriki and Harrison Burrows. In midfield, Sydie Peck and Jairo Riedewald are expected to anchor the side. Notably, Patrick Bamford will lead the line, supported by a creative trio including Callum O’Hare and Andre Brooks.
