Recruitment specialist moves on from Swansea City : Latest News
Tuesday, 14th Apr 2026 08:00 by Keith Haynes

Recruitment specialist Adam Worth has left the Swans. Due to a leak at the club it became news two days before the club wanted to announce it. We had certain information on Sunday but as we do with transfers and other news at times we protected what we knew before yesterdays announcement.

Worth has been the focus of some Swans fans, but his record is more than decent. He quickly proved his ‘worth’ recruiting permanent signings Melker Widell, Ethan Galbraith, Leo Walta (completion this summer) Zeidane Inoussa, Marko Stamenić, Cameron Burgess, Adam Idah and Bobby Wales with a hand in placing Lewis O’Brien last winter at Swansea. He has repaid the club with some players of quality. They will earn the club multi millions in the future.

He has had some poorer moments with Ricardo Santos ( an Alan Sheehan signing) admittedly but his overall presence, irrespective of opinion has changed the shape of the club for the coming years. The loan signings, much of whom were back ups to the permanent team will possibly be a learning curve for him but Malick Yalcouyé from Brighton is a stand out. Kaelan Casey and Ishè Samuels-Smith really didn’t stand a chance as the players ahead of them were first choice no matter what. Gustavo Nunes from Brentford has shown glimpses of his ability but Manuel Benson from Burnley was indeed a low point. Operating within a stringent budget Worth unearthed players to suit a certain style preferred by the club. On that the average success rate for an EFL club based on appearances, goals, and of course a whole plethora of stats is around one in four. It’s hard to gauge after a season how these players will improve and perform in 2026/27 but there are stand outs.

Another player sourced quickly in January was Joel Ward.

Worth and CEO Tom Gorringe were instrumental in bringing in Vitor Matos to the club last November. Matos was spoken to by the Swans before Kim Hellberg (now at Middlesbrough) was interviewed in London last year. The general belief being Matos was a rushed replacement is simply not true.

Now forty one Worth wasn’t sacked by the Swans, in fact much was done to retain him after his decision to leave on Saturday evening. A club source has given us plenty of information on this latest installment at the Swans. There are reasons for the decision, which no doubt will be copied in mainstream press reports when we do reveal it. However, when agreements are made we stick to the. Certain quarters can abuse our position on social media but our track record in solid reporting on Swansea City and Wales I personally think stands up to scrutiny. It’s safe to say there is no other club awaiting his services and no immediate plans to do so. We reported yesterday that a new Director Of Football had been approached, and as is normal the BBC copied the information two hours later as did Wales On Line. The situation with that is the Swans have been actively in search for a new person to come in and fill that role although they have never seen it as an urgent matter.

Our sources won’t change for this summer, they will be added to, we have several quality assets, a variety of agents in the main who have joined us because of their own personal experiences with brain tumours. Mostly family and friends in difficult life threatening situations. Our obligation to you is to continue our free service that many thousands enjoy every day. It’s a real delight to do so, thanks for your emails and messages, we read every single one and as many of you know we always reply.

As some of you have noticed even yesterday there is still a very small presence on social media who want to either encourage abuse, facilitate harrasment and malicious communications, or have done so continuously for the past eighteen months in one example. There is one who hasn’t stopped since we started our work here at Swansea Independent. We used to respond, nowadays we collect every screenshot and carefully evidence every single one and retain them. The reasoning is that family, friends and a whole load of supporters of our website have heard and seen enough. As many know my daughter has a terminal diagnosis of stage 4 brain cancer, the worst you can have. Despite appealing to these individuals to quit due to our cause to support the brain tumour charity, the abuse hasn’t abated. We have now taken steps to end this once and for all. Once this matter concludes we will bring you up to date.

People of all ages are being victimised on social media, many people have taken their own lives or had their own issues resurface after battling specific mental illnesses due to persistent online abuse. The figures are shocking, the sentencing for this can be very robust. If you are in need of help right now you can contact CyberSmile. We are approved to place this information by the charity.
