Keen eyed Swans fans have noticed that Ethan Galbraith has removed Swansea City from his Instagram profile, That lit the touchpaper for numerous responses. Either way was it well advised ?

Ethan has a close family around him and one in particular who surely wouldn’t have advised this move by the Swans player still contracted for a few years yet at the club. Having made it clear he wanted to join the Swans last summer which we broke on this site there have been discussions between the club and his agent Lee Mudd. Ethan has now removed Swansea City from his biog and there seems to be a lot of Swansea City photographs no longer available too.

The discussions surrounded an increase in his weekly salary in the immediate and it has been revealed to us that it also contained a few positive improvements within his add ons and release clause. We haven’t been able to confirm this but that’s an expected angle the club would come from. Whatever it was the improved contract (and it was) was rejected. We then heard about talks again this week. Where they were held if anywhere at all with so much technical kit about who knows ? But something has tickled Ethan’s tummy and provoked a reaction.

There is a leak at Swansea City on certain matters, and we know exactly where that is, and if we do then the majority shareholding will as well. That’s a matter for them. However, as we mentioned earlier on our Twitter (x) majority shareholder, Brett Cravatt can be ruthless. With some information on this we think this is an issue. But is it with regards to this leak ?

1. Ethan’s agent advised him of the offer last week and it was quite rightly turned down.
2. More talks have been undertaken. Ethan has been advised and in a moment an ill thought out cathartic expression he removed the club from his instagram profile.

That should really be it.

However, scenario 2 : IF there are leaks in transfer discussions, and on this occasion say it isn’t the club, then the finger is pointed at the agent or player. They really can be the only other outlet. Even if someone else repeated it, the leak is obvious. We spoke to one of our advisors to the site this morning and he stated that many agents do release information on talks. If this is the case then it has backfired with Ethan’s reaction today. IF info was released by him or his agent they possibly would have expected a backlash against the club from the fans. We think they may have overestimated that IF that is the scenario. Swans fans are not stupid.

So we’ve covered both sides of the issue, it’s very early days, this will pop up again and again.

We also received this in an email very recently. “The leak with the Galbraith news seems to be the issue. If the club can show it came from the players side he could be determined as in breach of contract. Whatever it is the offer may have been withdrawn this week, hence the players reaction. That’s always an option. I’ve seen it on numerous occasions. Something has broken down, it’s down to the agent to remedy this, that’s his end game in matters like this”

We don’t see any reason why Galbraith would do this bar a temporary loss of control. We see enough people lashing out against websites and individuals because of their lack of maturity and reasoning. What is true is the biography of Ethan Galbraith has changed and it remains changed at the time of this report. It may have been a poor choice by him but outlets will report it, and in turn news travels fast. Whatever happens next, and if there is an excuse provided for this we are uncertain it will carry the test of time.
