Swansea City are preparing themselves for serious interest on a number of players this coming summer with many clubs looking at the hard work achieved over the last year at the Swans. With a squad as it stands capable of challenging at the right end of the table next season there are going to be some real uncomfortable decisions to make.

First off we all know that Ethan Galbraith is unsettled at the Swans. He is aware of the riches he could earn at a number of Championship or Premiership League clubs. As our regular readers know we have some great contacts surrounding Ethan and broke his signing to the Swans during the last summer transfer window. At that point he stated that the only club he wanted to sign for was the Swans. Having said that he has tasted personal success in a Swans shirt and now it seems he would like to move on. There is one thing to clear up though. First of all it is believed he has a release clause enabling him to leave the Swans for a set fee. If anyone reports that fee they will be guessing, it just isn’t known in the wider football world. However, agents talk to agents regularly, it’s a close and confined space where details such as Ethan’s current release clause will be known. But agents working for clubs and Ethan will know these figures. It isn’t of any benefit for them to share that with some hack on a local rag.

Swans fans are all screaming for twenty million pounds for Ethan, but if this unknown release clause is hit that won’t be the figure he goes for. The reason for this clause is that both clubs, in this instance Swansea and an interested party won’t know the release clause details, but as we all know that’s utter nonsense. So, whatever his release clause is will be the fee he WILL go for. The Swans have offered Ethan a new contract with a far higher release clause but he has rejected it out of hand and is now waiting for confirmation of who is really interested in him. His preference we know is the Premier League and that is the same for the Swans as we have reported recently. This to avoid him going to a rival is of utmost importance. A few clubs have been mentioned and connected to Ethan, currently they are all speculative punts.

There is little to report on Zān Vipotnik (below) a man who has gone about his business far more thoughtfully than Ethan Galbraith. He is settled in Swansea with his family, his wife loves the area and has signed a new contract with a high release clause to enable the Swans to get good money for him should that case arise. Again there are a few clubs who hold genuine interest but the Swans are really not happy to sell him on to a rival. We know that Zān is taking his time, not allowing the process to go to his head and has stated openly to fans who engage him that his family are safe, secure and his situation is a very happy one. Far different we think to the situation Ethan is in. Those that saw Ethan at the end of season awards will recall a very solemn young man and many commented as to his demeanour.

Sometimes maybe when you wake up in the morning you should take a breath and be thankful you are alive - and having the best time of your life as a young man ? Don’t take things for granted and thank yourself too for the talent you have. Take your first steps of every day cautiously, you never know what is round the corner.

We have heard that Hull City are currently considering Josh Tymon (above) as a capable addition to their Premier League squad. He was born in the city and has played for them before. Potentially one of the best left wing backs in the Championship with a high assist rate Hull seem to think he has the attributes that they need for next term. This is ‘agent talk’ but no doubt any club that can afford him would be daft not to consider a player at the height of his game. This is where the Swans are going to have some big decisions to make this summer as Marko Stamenić, currently at the World Cup with New Zealand also raising interest. That’s the latest we have on these three players, one who seems agitated that the world isn’t working the way he wants it, not least a league one player last season. Then another who is considerate and well grounded as to his position accompanied by Josh Tymon, someone who lets his work do the talking on the pitch. It takes all sorts when the summer window comes around, and certain characters do expose themselves publicly at times without realising they are being closely monitored.

Young men see, still learning (we hope) and without doubt putting themselves first, but there are clear ways of doing that. And clear ways not to.

We can confirm that Dom Ballard at Leyton Orient is currently being priced out of any interest stated by other outlets. No inquiries have been made and with the price in excess of ten million pounds it is unlikely at that price he will be playing in Wales next season. With no Sporting Director or recruitment specialist employed all offers for Swans players are being dealt with by CEO Tom Gorringe with Jay Lefevre managing some form multi job task to cover for the lack of qualified staff to actually do recruitment and directing properly.
