Swansea City : All the news, Cullen Vipi, Ronald, Matos, Stoke tickets and that new strip

It’s sometimes best to let things run for a bit when it comes to transfers, Liam Cullen is a prime example leaving for Leicester City. Many knew this three days ago but clearance and those caveats will always take time.

Then there is the fantastic news that the Swans head coach, Vitor Matos has signed an extended contract to 2030 giving him peace of mind and of course for his family and children who are now well settled in Swansea. As the official site stated he is a high performance coach and proved that with fourteen league wins from thirty league games. A very decent return for a manager fresh into his first real challenge leading a team in the EFL Championship. Congratulations Vitor.

Liam Cullen leaving the club was a huge surprise he has always made it known he really didn’t want to leave Swansea. A true Swansea City fan and someone a good many of the Jack Army will be sad to see go. Us include but maybe it is now the right time ? Needs must possibly plus he will get a clear season to prove his worth at Russell Martin’s new club. We haven’t heard anything on a second player going that way just rumours, so nothing new to report there.

We reported on Ethan Pye the Stockport County defender a few days back and included previous links, the Swans making three inquiries for the player over the last year. Basically the figures that Stockport County wanted for him including an up front fee were not feasible, and you can see why. It’s much the same as Zān Vipotnik, we made it known a month ago that clubs interested would see his value as overestimated. That has been circulated by a number of journalists since then. The Swans though have never made it known the price they want, but of course valid clubs inquiring will ascertain those details when talking to the Swans. Anything below twenty million ‘we think’ is giving him away. The clubs rumoured of late to be interested in him haven’t agreed anything, and we will only see how much they want the Swans top goal getter as this window draws to an end.

⚽️ Swans v CD Leganés

It’s the first day of August today so there’s another thirty two days to go before all this transfer nonsense stops. There’s little on movements out but we expect Ollie Cooper to leave and potentially Cameron Congreve. There’s little news about but Swans squad should be released very soon for the coming season. On those two, they are both Welsh so there really does need to be some thought about their leaving. Especially as they could be the difference in the squad make up on homegrown talent etc.

Saturday, 15 August, 2026 – First match of the season. (Stoke city away)
Saturday, 1 May, 2027 – Final match of the season.
Saturday, 29 May, 2027 – Play-off final.

On that Stoke City away game we have been told it is heading for a near 2,800 sell out for Swans fans now a third location has gone on sale. Around a hundred remain but we are unsure at this time if there’s room for more or that’s the full allocation. We will keep you updated.

So, what about the new shirt ? Always a big moment for all football fans. Of course you can’t really tell without touching, feeling and of course wearing. Everyone has a choice, and a new sponsor albeit at the end of a difficult time getting the deal sorted. Well done on the club, it’s all building up nicely.
