Swansea City : Two more in, Matos loves a permanent signing !

As we reported a few days back a 21 year old midfielder from the ‘north of England’ was on the radar of Swansea City. We resisted temptation to name him due recent events with clubs jumping on Swansea signings. But the news is out and it is Tom lorpenda a million pound midfield signing from Huddersfield Town.

⚽️ We have also been advised that a centre back, twenty two year old Soumaïla Coulibaly, is on his way from Strasbourg. A quick look at this young man is impressive. A left-footed, ball-playing centre-half who looks very comfortable receiving the ball under pressure. Brest coach Éric Roy specifically praised his maturity and ability to play under pressure. He’s 1.91m, strong in the air, quick and agile for his size, and generally reads danger well. His numbers back that up: last season he completed 90.2% of his passes, won 63.6% of all duels and 67.5% of aerial duels, while making around five clearances per 90. (FotMob) He was signed last summer from Borussia Dortmund last summer by Strasbourg but it seems he is on his way to the Swans this evening.

⚽️ Tom lorpenda is more of an attacking midfielder. Here are his recent reports. He’s a big, athletic and energetic central/attacking midfielder at around 6ft 3in, but he’s much more mobile than his frame suggests. His standout quality is carrying the ball through midfield — powerful running, willingness to beat a man and then find a forward pass. A recent Huddersfield assessment specifically highlighted his ball-carrying, counter-pressing, movement and ability to thread passes. He also works extremely hard defensively. During his excellent loan at Notts County he registered 103 tackles, with his defensive contribution ranking exceptionally highly among attacking midfielders. He contributed 3 goals and 7/8 assists and ultimately won both Notts County’s Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the Year awards.

We also hear that Leo Walta and Inoussa are potentially going out on loan whilst Florian Bianchini is still searching for a club. As it stands there have been inquiries for Zān Vipotnik but nothing concrete regards a move as yet.
