Swansea City : Consolidated news with lorpenda still on, Coulibaly explained
Monday, 31st Aug 2026 19:06 by Keith Haynes

Swansea City have withdrawn from the transfer of Soumaïla Coulibaly the Strasbourg centre back. As we reported at 7:45am this morning on our forum there were issues with the transfer, now it’s off. The reasons being reported are a failed medical, which is a term everyone uses in these circumstances. However, as we reported back in January a medical cannot be failed.

The story behind his injury record is substantial.

Clubs when given the results of medicals scrutinise the information and then make a decision on progressing the players talks. One clubs ok is another's no. It is down to the clubs, not a pass or fail. See below.

Tom lorpenda as we exclusively reported on Friday is in the final throws of completing his move from Huddersfield Town. There seems to be no hitches with terms and fee agreed. Jeremy Monga has been approved by Manchester City boss, Enzo Maresca to join the Swans on loan. The winger will complete matters in the morning. The loss of Coulibaly is possibly a blessing in disguise, the Swans have two excellent centre backs in Filip Lissah and Stephen Welsh with new signing on loan from Sunderland Jenson Seelt also in place. That doesn’t include Ben Cabango and Cameron Burgess who are out with injury. It sounded a bit top heavy with six choices for head coach, Vitor Matos.

It seems that Leo Walta will join up with Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in MLS. This will make Swans fans somewhat angry as there is an option to buy. Something in Walta clearly didn’t register with Matos. We know he is beefing up his midfield with lorpenda and at centre back, but this won’t sit well with everyone. Ronald is in discussions with two clubs to leave as is Zeidane Inoussa. That may come to something, but Florian Bianchini is most certainly sitting it out on a big salary as no club can match what Swansea are paying him.. If that continues it’s a big decision on paying him off.

It’s been a great summer for the Swans and more movements are expected before 11pm UK time tomorrow night. Taking stock of everything with our inbox on information overload is taking some time. Tomorrow we have a complete page which will be updated as news comes together.

Jeremy Monga es un fichaje ilusionante, ojala se complete, me hizo recordar aquella epoca con Sinclair
