It’s been an exciting summer for all Swansea fans. Last year most fans agreed we had a great window, but by most metrics we have exceeded it this summer. We have already started the season with three wins in four, a squad that feels electric and a manager everyone seems to love, but somehow we keep improving things in the transfer market up until the very last day. It has been such a busy summer, it is not easy to keep up with all the ins- and outgoings, but you’ve got us here to help.

Please note figures are assessments in some places.

Here is the complete summer 2026 transfer list for Swansea City, who they have signed from where, for what price and what that player might bring to SA1. I will also add my own rating of the signing from a scale from 1-5. This rating includes fee, player profile and skill and fit for the team.

⚽️ Arrivals - permanent signings

This summer saw eight permanent signings be made, if you count Leo Walta who we were obliged to buy anyway. Since we’ve already seen the finn, I won't count him here, but the rest of the seven players are:

⚽️ Stephen Welsh - Centre back - Free transfer - Celtic - 26 years old
The Scotsman has had a fantastic start in Swansea, already receiving wide praise for his defensive ability, but especially his fantastic distribution. For a free transfer, this is a steal. A great signing to start the window, and a profile of a ball playing centre half that we really were in need of. He is the most accomplished playmaker and centre back we have seen in Swansea for years.

⚽️ Moussa Yeo - Winger - £4-5 million - Red Bull Salzburg - 22 years old
Yeo has worked under Vitor Matos before at Red Bull Salzburg and he is obviously a player the Portuguese head coach values a lot. The Malian came in as our first winger of the window, a position we really needed strengthening. He’s had a promising start to life in SA1 and still has room to grow.

⚽️ Elijah Just - Attacking midfielder - £5,9 million - Motherwell - 26 years old
Hot from a World Cup campaign with New Zealand in which he scored three goals in three games, Just has been good so far for the Swans, but it still feels like he could kick on even more. He is a tidy player and will no doubt offload the team with goals and assists in this campaign.

⚽️ Joseph Opoku - Winger - £6,5 million - Zulte Waregem - 21 years old
10 goals and 6 assists from 33 games in the Belgian first division are good numbers and Joseph Opoku has continued that form in South Wales. Already he is being hailed for his directness, physicality and eye for goal. For that age, price and production, Opoku seems to be a hell of a signing.

⚽️ Ross Stewart - Striker - Free - Free Agent - 30 years old
We didn't just add young talents this summer, we also added some good ol’ Championship experience in Scottishman Ross Stewart. Albeit struggling with injuries, Stewart still managed 9 goals in 27 games for Southampton last year in the Championship. With him coming for free, the only real negatives are the pretty hefty wage and his injury records, and the fact that both Zan Vipotnik and Adam Idah are staying in SA1.

⚽️ Stephen Eustáquio - Midfielder - £4 million - Porto FC - 29 years old
A world cup captain joining Swansea from Porto was not on my bingo card, but this is my singing of the summer. Eustáquio provides experience and leadership from competitions that no other player in this squad is close to. He is calm and collected and will be a huge addition to our midfield. His age makes his price discounted, but 29 years old is not by any means a player in his last years. A wonderful signing.

⚽️ Tom Iorpenda - Midfielder - £875K - Huddersfield Town - 21 years old
This is one for the future. The Englishmen spent last year on loan at Notts County, where he scored 3 goals and provided 7 assists from 46 games in League Two. Everyone seems to have seen his spectacular solo run and goal vs Cheltenham Town, which shows that there is a lot of talent there. Still, his position is one where we are very stacked and 21 is the same sage as some more proven signings. But not a bad signing by any means. On the bench against Watford.

Arrivals - Loan deals, the must haves at the end of the window.

Vitor Matos has expressed his dislike for loanees to our sources, feeling the players he develops aren’t actually his. Still, Swansea have made three loan signings, strengthening the squad temporarily. Those three are:

⚽️ Tiago Parente - Left back - One season loan - Benfica - 21 years old
The Portuguese talent has spent multiple seasons out on loan from Benfica, and last year he made 14 appearances for Estoril in Liga Portugal. He joined Swansea on a season-long loan and will provide much needed depth for Josh Tymon on that lefthand side. He should be easy to communicate with for Vitor Matos and fits us very well. His experience is the only real negative.

⚽️ Jenson Seelt - Centre back - One season loan - Sunderland - 23 years old
The Dutch centre back made a couple of Premier League appearances for the Black Cats last year before leaving on loan to Wolfsburg for the remainder of the season where he played 10 times in the Bundesliga. Seelt is tall, great in the air and comfortable with the ball. He’s an incredible fit for Swansea and in an area where we needed more depth. Perfect loan signing, will be very excited to see how he does here.

⚽️ Jeremy Monga - Winger - One season-loan - Manchester City - 17 years old
Some would call Monga an English wonderkid. The teenager made 27 appearances for Leicester last year, mainly being utilized for his dribbling. He adds some creativity and one-on-one ability to the flanks, but it’s in a position that we have a lot of talent now. Still, he adds something more to the mix, and he did cause us trouble last season. A big talent, no doubt.

Now that’s all of our arrivals. We added nine new players to the squad this summer plus the fee of Leo Walta, which made our total spendings on new players around £20.675 million.
Now to the departures.

Five players left the club of note, or brought in value

⚽️ Ricardo Santos - Centre back - £65k - Sheffield Wednesday - 31 years old
Riddled with injuries, Ricardo Santos’ spell at Swansea can only be seen as a massive let down. The only positive is that we managed to offload him for a fee.

⚽️ Ethan Galbraith - Midfielder - £10 million + 1.5 add ons - Stoke City - 25 years old
After a contract extension offer that Galbraith seemingly was very disappointed by, the North Irishmen left for Stoke. He has started the season well for the Potters, but the results have been dire. Galbraith’s role in Swansea will be filled by Stephen Eustáquio who has similar qualities.

⚽️ Liam Cullen - Attacker - £1 million - Leicester City - 27 years old
After almost 20 years at the club, Liam Cullen left SA1 for life in League One. This departure was the toughest one this summer for most Swansea fans. Cullen made over 200 appearances for the Swans and will be forever remembered for his clutch goals, and let’s not forget his 3 goals vs Cardiff. A Jack to remember.

⚽️ Cameron Congreve - Winger - £1 million - Westerlo - 22 years old
Another Welsh homegrown talent left just right after Cullen. Cameron Congreve spent last year on loan at Dundee FC, impressing many, but with the squad massively strengthening the winger-department, the 22 year old had to make way. He joined Westerlo, a Belgian side, and has provided an assist in his first three appearances for the club.

⚽️ Kyrell Wilson - Winger - £700k - Gent - 21 years old
Another academy winger who was on loan in Scotland last year who now ends up in Belgium, Kyrell Wilson didn’t impress enough at Falkirk for Vitor Matos to want him to be a part of the squad. Gent, a side which is famous for its development of young talents, will see over Wilson’s future, and this might be very good for him.

Despite disliking loaning in players, Matos has no problem with sending players out for loan. The loaned out players are:

⚽️ Sam Parker - Right back - One season-long loan - Wycombe - 20 years old
Despite impressing many at the end of last season, the Swansea academy talent Sam Parker left for a season-long loan to Wycombe in League One. Hopefully, the Welshman can develop to the point where he is a nailed on starter for Swansea next year.

⚽️ Oliver Cooper - Attacking midfielder - One season-long loan - Notts County - 26 years old
Another Welshman who left this summer, Oli Cooper never really kicked on like many expected him to. He moved to Notts County, who have just been promoted to League One. We can at least be delighted that Cooper has started the season strong, scoring one goal already, as many Swansea fans would like to see him back in SA1, competing for a starting spot.

⚽️ Bobby Wales - Striker - One season-long loan - Dundee FC - 21 years old
The collaboration between Swansea and Dundee FC continues as Bobby Wales returns home to Scotland. Wales never really got a chance last year, and it seems very fitting that he leaves on loan.

⚽️ Leo Walta - Midfielder - One season-long loan - LAFC - 23 years old

Many expected a lot more from Leo Walta, me included. In 2025 he completely tore up the Swedish league, but with 8 months in Wales there are no signs that he is rated by Vitor Matos or have adapted enough to British football to be as effective as he was in the Allsvenskan. In the MLS Walta we hopefully kick-on, but with the option-to-buy clause in the contract, it’s very possible we have seen the last of the finn in Swansea.

⚽️ Florian Bianchini - Winger - One season-long loan - Clermont - 25 years old
You may be forgiven if you have forgotten that Bianchini was still part of the squad. The Frenchman spent last year on loan at Portsmouth but only played 11 games all season. He will now return home to France and Ligue 2 side Clermont.

There we have it folks. In total, eleven players have left the squad (five permanently) and nine players have entered the squad (seven permanently). In total our approximate spendings this summer breaks down like this:

⚽️ We sold five players for a total of around £14 million.

⚽️ We bought players for a total of around £20.675 million.

This means our net spend this window sits at approximately -£6.675 million, NOT counting player wages. We have included Kit Margetson £650,000 to Manchester United.

Overall, we have done spectacular business. I believe we have strengthened in the areas we needed to and acquired correct profiles. I think the addition of ball playing centre backs, goal scoring wingers and technical midfielders are especially important and will help the team play in the way that Vitor Matos desires.

Football figures now fluctuate daily with squad cost ratio figures. This is one assessment as a guide. Ours is smaller but represents many other forecasts.
