The Red Wall have already gathered in vast numbers in Copenhagen this afternoon, many staying in Malmo which incredibly is much cheaper than the Danish capital. We have many of our Indy subscribers there plus the usual Swansea Independent faces we see so often away with Wales.

The Parken Stadium is the location and it all kicks off at 5pm UK time. It’s not a must win for Craig Bellamy’s Wales, but a win would be most appreciated after the narrow 1-0 loss in Lisbon to Portugal on Thursday night. Some are stating this game and the return in Wales could well decide who finishes in third place in this group (A4) for the best seeded sides in this Nations League tournament.

Today’s game changers are all French. Willy Delajod of France will take charge of the match between Denmark and Cymru in Copenhagen this evening. The 34-year-old has been a FIFA Referee since 2020 and was a VAR at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Delajod regularly officiates in UEFA club competition and was Assistant VAR for the 2022 Champions League Final. Erwan Finjean and Valentin Evrard are the Assistant Referees and Ruddy Buquet is the Fourth Official. Bastien Dechepy is the VAR and he will be assisted by Marc Bollengier.

Bellamy is going to make changes today. “We have players that are able to come on and bring another intensity again. That’s why I’ve always wanted to build a squad, because I believe to be playing against the top teams, and especially this format now, that you’re not going to survive without a squad. If you looked at the group right now, we’ve both lost. So if we want to finish third, then a positive result is needed. But I honestly believe even after these four games, third place is not going to be out. This is going to go to the end, and that gives you something to fight for.”

Denmark head coach, Brian Riemer was short and sweet in his reflections on Wales, "We expect a team that wants to enjoy the ball, but also use the strength they have up front with a lot of pace"
