Back To Business On Saturday
Back To Business On Saturday
Thursday, 19th Aug 2010 09:09

Its been an emotional week, but on Saturday Saints have to get back to business.

Reality will kick back in at St May's at the weekend when Leyton Orient are the visitors, the hard facts of the matter is that there are no league points for sympathy and the Londoners will be looking to dent Saints promotion hopes.

This being the case, Alan Pardew's job is to make sure that the team is ready to step out into what will be a very charged atmosphere, he has to make sure that they ride the energy of the occasion and dont let it overwhelm them, in footballing terms it would have been better for Saints to have played last weekend, it would have allowed them to have got the emotion out of their systems and perhaps adapt better this coming Saturday.

The weight of the supporters will be on the team and not just because of the sad situation we are in, a second league defeat at home would put a severe dent in our start to the season, not to mention the pressure that will then be on Alan Pardew.

Football has rightly taken a back seat in the past week or so, but it comes back to the fore on Saturday and the emotion from the stands will have a big bearing on the result, the team needs Saints supporters to get behind them and carry them through, the worry is that like the Bournemouth game, if things dont go right in the first half, the crowd may be more of a problem than an advantage
