Mr Smith walks into a bank London and asks for the loan officer. He says he's going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow £5000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so Mr Smith hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce, which costs quarter of a million pounds. “The car is parked on the street in front of the bank,” says Mr Smith, “and I have all the necessary papers.” The bank officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. After Mr Smith leaves, the loan officer, the bank's president and all their colleagues enjoy a good laugh at the man for using a £250,000 Rolls Royce as collateral against a £5,000 loan. One of the employees drives the Rolls into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, Mr Smith returns, repays the £5000 and the interest, which comes to £15.41. The loan officer says, "Sir, I must tell you, we’re all a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and discovered that you’re a multimillionaire. Why would you bother to borrow £5,000?" The man replies, "Where else in London can I park my car for two weeks for only £15.41?" |

Or in other words bringing back trams, this could be a great idea, run them on several lines ie Millbrook Road, Shirley, Portswood & Bitterne and then all run round a central loop.

| Forum Thread | David James Plays In Southampton Sunday League at 20:36 18 Mar 2024
My mates son plays for this side, so I knew it was going to happen, apparently they donated a load of used football boots to charity and David James was the parton, so they sent a cheeky letter asking if he would play for them and he agreed. Scored the winner too, I was never a fan of him as a player, especially when he played for Pompey, but fair play to him for this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68597860 |

Today's victim is Shea Charles, perhaps we could do a version of Shake Your Tailfeather as performed by his nearly namesake Ray Charles in the Blues Brothers film |

Following on from the revelation that Will Smallbone lets the train take the strain, who has met a Saints player in somewhere they didn't expect to do so. As mentioned I recently met Shane Long in the toilets of the Grapes Pub in Mathew Street Liverpool, a famous venue as this was not only the place that the Beatles used to drink when they played at the nearby Cavern Club, but where Pete Best went to drown his sorrows after being sacked by the Beatles. I wonder whether Shane was considering that he was having a p*ss at the same urinals that the Fab Four would have (They looked like they hadn't changed) when he was accosted by a very well refreshed me .

| Forum Thread | Saints Players You Never Saw Play Live at 21:57 12 Mar 2024
Im not talking about those that you never saw because they were youngsters or you werent bothering going at the time, but those that never got a game. The obvious one for me was Martin Caceres, joined after we lost both Fonte who left and Van Dijk injured in January 2017, Caceres was out of contract and a free agent and we had just Yoshida and the recent Premier League debutant Jack Stephens in the centre of defence. Strangely Caceres would play just one game away at Middlesbrough on 13th May he looked the part there but wouldnt play again, he was still only 29 and went on to play for a number of clubs in Italy and is still playing for LA Galaxy this season. Strange that he never got a game, if we had played him in the League cup final we might have won
